Consul Report

::bow::

Clan Plagueis,

This is a special edition of the Consul Report. I am going to outline our basic strategy, team captains and their lieutenants for the Ninth Great Jedi War. As always, if you wish to assist or have questions/ideas/concerns, please come to me so we can work them out. I am going to do everything in my power to ensure you have a positive experience in this forthcoming campaign. So without further adieu...

General Outline

The Great Jedi War will consist of a number of events. These events are meant to test the mettle of each member in a variety of different ways: Gaming, Writing, Graphics, etc. As such, I generally break the action into five categories of focus: Antei Combat Center, Clan Run-On, Gaming, General Fiction and Miscellaneous. We then appoint Captains to assist members with these tasks, provide direction and give feedback. To ensure the Captains do not get backed up, we appoint Lieutenants to assist in with proofreading and brainstorming.

It is a very member-oriented approach. Lieutenants help everyone, Captains provide direction/encouragement and I run around like a chicken with my head cutoff putting out fires wherever they pop up. All in all, this system has worked extremely well for me in my three campaigns... two of which I took the honor of Second Clan. And that is a trend I very much hope to continue. Right-o, on to appointments.

Captains & Lieutenants

Antei Combat Center Captain - Proconsul, Obelisk Templar Alaris Jinn

Antei Combat Center Lieutenant - Krath Epis, Impetus M'Nar

Antei Combat Center Lieutenant - Krath Archpriest, Cipher Isradia

General Fiction Captain - Aedile, Dark Jedi Knight Vivackus Kavon

General Fiction Lieutenant - Aedile, Jedi Hunter Ralph Vundu

General Fiction Lieutenant - Obelisk Prelate Callus Bo'Amar

General Fiction Lieutenant - Krath Pontifex Alex d'Tana

Gaming Captain - Clan Roll Master, Obelisk Prelate Cethgus Kuga

Gaming Lieutenant - Flight Leader, Kara Rohana

Miscellaneous Captain - Quaestor, Yzarc Rellik Kaeth di Plagia

Miscellaneous Lieutenant - Clan Forum Moderator, Ood Bnar Sythe'rae

Run-On Captain - Quaestor, Warhunter Arawn

Clan Strategy

The idea of Captains and Lieutenants is simple... help me, help you. Each of these appointed officials and their subordinates are going to help you through the Great Jedi War. Should you require a piece of fiction to be proofread... you will send it to one of the Captains/Lieutenants that cover that area of expertise and we will - within 24 to 48 hours - get you a proofed piece back. It may also point out continuity and realism errors, as well. We are not aiming for perfection, but we will be looking to give you the best chance at placing in the top ten for each event.

The Captains are not, however, appointed to do your submissions for you. You still have to put forth the effort, they are simply making sure your entries are correct and will be given participation credit. They are also dreadfully useful if you are experiencing writer's block, too. Long story short... don't abuse these people, but use them to give yourself the best chance.

Why so many people for General Fiction and the Antei Combat Center? Proofreading is a very tiresome exercise and can grind on people if a lot has to be done in a short period of time. To help stabilize this... we appoint more people. Additionally, we will be looking into options to get Warhunter more help with the run-on. We are giving some thought to our official run-on strategy right now... more will be forthcoming on this.

The Message

Yes, even in special Consul Reports there is a message. And today's message revolves around basic GJW strategy for an individual.

Some people will rush headlong into every event during this war. And I applaud each individual that can manage that workload. It is an excruciating pace over what becomes a very long eight weeks. The individuals whom do this, and do it with success, generally become Clan Champions or Great Jedi War Heroes. With those accolades come great honors... high level promotions, sacrificial blades, custom robes, etc. A worthy goal for each and every member.

For the majority of members, you will stretch yourself too thin, too quickly and burn out. To remedy this, I encourage individual strategy... and pace. Every member should focus on knocking out the Fiction Events as their first priority. This is called the "primary objective" of the Clan. From there, an individual should choose a secondary and tertiary (third) objective based on their individual skill level and involvement. Generally, a member will elect to do either the Antei Combat Center or Gaming as a secondary objective. For those whom are not good combat-writers or gamers, the option of Miscellaneous (Graphics, Battle Plans, etc) will exist.

Should you find yourself easily managing to write your fiction entries for the week, getting in plenty of games/matches... look towards your tertiary objective: where the Clan needs you. Sometimes we will be behind in Gaming, others we will need more submissions in those miscellaneous events... If you are not sure where the Clan needs help (and can benefit), contact your local Consul.

THE FIN

Congratulations to Team Captains and their Lieutenants!

Pace yourself in the Great Jedi War - find balance (unless you are a leader... then bust your arse!)
