OT Etah Idanian

Introduction:

Hello ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to my first official, formal AED report. I finally caved in to peer pressure and decided to join the reporting crowd, so yaay me and yaay you for bothering to read this far. I don’t have any inside information, anything new to report or much substance for that matter. I just figured a report of some kind would go a ways to justifying my existence at this moment and increase communication within the house and clan which to my knowledge is rarely ever a bad thing.

On a more serious note:

I would like to say thank you. Not for the great Jedi War but for everything, for the last several years that I have had the privilege of being a member of this clan. I joined the Brotherhood as a member of Arcona and though I’ll confess planning to jump ship once or twice for one reason or another, I could never bring myself to do it. This is my home and I can’t imagine a time it will ever cease to be and I know most of us that have been around awhile feel the same. Those of you who are newer, whether you are truly new or have tried a couple other clan’s first, I hope you will come to understand why there is no better place within the Brotherhood.

I’ve been a member of the Clan Arcona through our ups and downs, though sometimes it seemed more the latter than the former. I’ve been here through several Clan and House summits, through all the controversy, through all the arguments and through it all this clan has shown to have some kind of intangible, indefinable strength. Even when we came in second from the bottom, even when everyone counted us out, even when they ridiculed us; that strength shone through. Well guess what, no one’s counting us out now and those who persist in ridiculing us do so because we have their backs to the fucken wall.

Great Jedi War:

The results of the Great Jedi War are not yet in but it’s ok. The hold up is un-judged ACC matches an area thanks to a dedicated few, we pwned in. But let me say this right now for all of you and all of them. Even if we come in third place, even if Tally comes in first again, we made them fucking earn it. They are sweating bullets right now because they think this victory is something entitled to them. Even if they win (like they always have), they’ll remember this, they’ll remember that they almost lost, that we could have won. Even if the worst happens we will have gotten inside of their head and that will make next year, when we do beat them; all the more painful.

Every single Arconan that took part in the GJW should stand proudly whether you did one competition or twenty, whether you placed or not; every single point counts and matters. I will say that some are more responsible for our success than others. I would like to specifically give a shout out to our gamers who as I’ve mentioned before, deserve the lions share of the credit, along with the 3 or 4 ACCers who’s tireless dedicated made up for their numerical inferiority. It is times like these that will be remembered as long as the Brotherhood yet lives.

It is the members who fight the good fight but it is leaders who act as force multipliers. It is leaders who direct and focus the entities they lead. Members can strive to do their greatest, but if the leadership just isn’t there than very little will happen. I know because that was me and a dedicated few hopelessly fighting the good fight against insurmountable odds with little or no direction or leadership last Great Jedi War. We did the best we could and our efforts were found wanting. So I can’t help but thinking that our Clan and House Summit’s made the difference this war.

So without further ado I would like to thank those who have led the Clan all the way through the war which are Sashar, Strat and Lego. I would like to thank those who led the Clan through part of the war which include Vor, Taig and Xathia and those who courageously stepped in to take their place (though I may be a little biased on this one), Timmy, Arc and myself. I think JScumm, Mali and Zandro should be mentioned as well for just incredible amounts of activity and they go to show that sometimes you don’t have to be in a leadership position to be a leader.

I wanna take this time to point out that I have not always had good things to say about everyone on that list, and not all of them have always have had good things to say about me. I wanna thank them for trusting me and giving me a chance and I hope that I proved their confidence was not misplaced.

I wanna finish off this long, boring and pointless rant with pointing out the war is over. This is a time to rest and relax. Keep coming to mIRC, stay alive, don’t disappear but reset your mind. What Arcona doesn’t need is every Arconan going nuts over every injustice or perceived injustice and getting CoJed. I have watched very big men fall because they didn’t know when to quit. Revel in the fear radiating from the other clan’s sweat, hi five your fellow Arconan’s for kicking ass and prepare for the next time our words and our spears will become sharp and we point them the other clan’s way.

Tally is an institution within the Brotherhood and their dominance legendary, but their age is in twilight and ours is dawning.
