First Fiction Tribune Report

Greetings,

This is the first Fiction Tribune report from myself here are a few updates for you.

1)The Monthly Fiction Competition is back. There is a new competition located here for you to exercise your imagination with. Have fun and enjoy your fiction.

http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/dbjedi/CompetitionDetails.asp?page=1&order=Queue_Comp.StartDate%20DESC,%20Queue_Comp.EndDate&sort=desc&ID=4343

The link above will take you to the competition details. There will be a poetry competition as well coming soon.

2)We are in the process of creating a new venue for the fictional aspect of the Brotherhood. As you will have noticed there are several new forums available on the message boards. We are creating a set of RPG guidelines for you to enjoy a new level of Runon and IRC RPGs for the entire Brotherhood. More on that soon.

3)Finally with this new endeavor comes a new position to asst me in this larger endeavor.

4)Assistant Loremasters : The Assistant Loremasters are members of the Fiction Tribunes staff, with the expansion of the Fiction Tribune’s duties to promote a more steady form of fiction for the DB comes the need for Assistants in this endeavor. In fact each Clan will have their own Assistant Loremaster assigned to them from their membership. This person will act as a mini Clan T:F. They will host RO’s and IRC RPGs for the Clan; they will be fellow moderators on the Fiction Tribune Message board area, where all “Official” DB RO’s will take place. Each Assistant Loremaster has the right to create an RO thread in this area, when they appear in this area; these RO’s and ONLY these RO’s will be eligible for DSS recommendations. ALL DSS recommendations must come from the Fiction Tribune otherwise the MAA will deny them. And the Fiction Tribune will only take recommendations from the Assistant Loremasters and the Clan CON for them. (Notable exceptions are awards from the Grand Master and Deputy Grand Master not withstanding).

a.This position is not open for applications, if you’re interested discuss it with your Consul and Proconsul, we have chosen to fill these new positions threw a CON recommendation / choice of the Assistant Loremaster of his or her Clan as they must work closely with the CON and PCON and will be the link between the T:F & the Clan Summit.

5)As the more astute of you will have noticed the comment in the Assistant Loremaster position about the DSS (Dark Side Scroll) formerly only handed out for certain fictional events 90% of which no longer exist, we have decided that the DSS will be reviewed and revised into the Fictional rough equivalent of a Cluster of Fire.

a.Further explained: Officially the Dark Side Scroll (DSS) has been coined for rewarding exceptional players and groups that participate in the RO or IRC RPG. These will serve as sort of the CF’s of the new RPG Project of the DB. Now do not expect the DSS to be handed out like the CF’s you will not see people with 700 DSS’s but you might see a very active member having 20. The Dark Side Scroll will be awarded both individually and on rare occasion a whole group of RPGers on recommendation from the Assistant Loremasters.

Note: As with all things in the DB exceptional members of Clans will be eligible for medal recommendations and even promotional recommendations for extended and exceptional activity in these RO’s and RPG’s. This will be at the discretion of the T:F if the recommendation is made, all other normal medal/promotion recommendation requirements apply once that is done.

Won't this devalue the DSS? Just I remember slaving away for mine making Sudoku for the DV and now you're intending to give them to Runon-runners (is that a word?) and RPGers? Just wanting clarification

Sorry, I pressed the submit too soon.

In point three, you misspelled Endeavour as Endeavor. Just pointing the spelling error out to you.

Sorry for posting again,

in point three: with ''asst me'' do you mean assist me or Astatine me?

First off...what's with these small little comments? Hopefully they're just jokes :P And "endeavor" is correct...either/or works.

As for the DSS, I don't see how it's being devalued...at least not in these instances. Seems to be just changing the tyoes of activities they can be rewarded for, but the range of effort seems to be fairly consistent. I mean, originally they were rewarded for a submission to the DV, which can range tremendously in effort. After that it was "x" amount of fiction...Run-Ons can easily be pages upon pages of fiction. So really, the value seems to be roughly the same as before

No Hal sadly Ood is performing his necessary adolescent hand waving much like Horshac form Welcome Back Kotter to gain attention.

And as far as your reference to Astatine unfortunately that is lost on me as I have never been a member of the EH or EHDB. I really can not appreciate the hold over humor of a long dead issue or unimportant personage you are referencing.

If you have questions or comments of substance please feel free to ask. Otherwise keep your adolescent posturing off the DB main site please.

Other people actually read these in hopes comments of substance might appear here in the comment section.

Because I'm just as much of a pain as Ood is:

Isn't 'controled' in your competition details supposed to say 'controlled', or are you just using a different spelling. :P

Diverting away from the other comments;

Nice report, Ludy! Everything looks good and I can't wait to see it officially implemented, as I love fiction.

Looking forward to the new changes. The Rp in Irc was fun while it lasted and will look forward to it.

I know you’re into the whole Dominatrix thing Vowel Chick, but I think you might want handle things more diplomatically in the future or perhaps ignore them outright. If you react to people who are seeking a reaction, it will only encourage them.

No no, we have a Tribune of Fiction now who is less of a recluse, more of a firebrand. I like this and encourage it!

Ludy, I wish you luck and I look forward to seeing your prospective plans come into fruition. You have big shoes to fill, but this report here gives me a sense of security in what direction you're taking this aspect of the DB.

I would be very interested in seeing more live/cooperative writing activities in the DJB. I've been a writer/role-player for over ten years, and that is perhaps the one outlet that the DJB has never satisfied for me, though I've tried to make attempts to start such things on the local level.

If you need any help or assistance, I'd be glad to do what I can. Just let me know. I look forward to seeing where this goes.
