Quaestor Report**

8/10/09

Intro:

Kal's footsteps were loud and clear as he stood tall, walking through the halls of Alpha Base and seeing the surprised glances thrown at him by nearly all of the personnel. Jedi and soldier alike were used to his new frailty, expecting him to be weakened by his injuries in the Ninth War, but this day he seemed to emanate confidence, a sense of power. His icy mask of a face was devoid of any readable expression, both because he knew how to control it to a very high degree and because he forced the mask to his face at every turn. Only when he wanted to use the appearance of emotion to affect those around him did he betray even the slightest flaw.

As he went, he spotted Fang Ao Tian, two soldiers recieving orders from the Battleteam Leader. As Kal passed and glanced at them, both of the soldiers snapped to attention, complete with salutes and rigid stances. Not Fang, though. He was full of pride, ambition, and aggression, very useful to Vorrac. He met the Sith eye for eye, the two locked in a stare of such intensity that the men behind Fang began to wonder if they should have armed themselves instead of saluting. Neither man felt any fear from the other, their eyes emulating fire and ice before they simultaneously nodded and continued with what they were doing. Tian was a man of blazing potential, unwilling to back down and unafraid of any challenger. He may have needed humbling, but Kal knew the Kiffar would serve his purpose excellently.

He continued through the halls toward his destination, seeing his next subordinate up the food chain in the form of Cassandra Elsin. The furry form of a Voorpak sat nestled on her shoulder, a gift from Vorrac herself, apparently for her hard work. As they passed their eyes met, but unlike Fang it was a look of affection, Cassie smiling warmly at the older man as he gave her a look not unlike that of a proud father, a smile also taking his pale face. He had been carefully growing the bond between them for some time now, Elsin's loyalty to him unquestioned. Hopefully, she wouldn't become expendable in the way that Aeshi had before her death at Cassie's own hands. She was far too useful.

Finally reaching his office, Kal gave a nod to Arcadian as he passed the man with eyes as cold as his own, entering the room and hearing the Rollmaster follow. Using the Force and his eyes to sweep the room for any booby-traps, Vorrac discerned that the room was clear before he sat down at his desk and switched on the computer built into it. Scanning over the data, he couldn't help but feel uneasy, using his other four natural senses in concert with the Force to keep an eye on Arc. In the absence of a proper Quaestor's Hand, the Sith was once again relying on himself. It was not so uncomfortable, however, and he certainly hadn't felt any trust for Anubis. That was reserved for the only person that mattered to Kal... himself.

News:

The House Feud: Insurrection has come to an end, and at the close, we find that we are not the victors. All congratulations go out to House Exar Kun for their win, and I'd like to extend my personal congratulations to every Ketoan that fought valiantly for this. It was because of your efforts, brave combatants, that we made the finishing score so close. We look forward now to a veritable orgy of rewards, medals, promotions, and salutations in the wake of this conflict. It has surely strengthened our Clan and given us all something fun to do.

In the wake of our loss, what have we learned? We were not soundly thrown back and we were not utterly dominated. For a time, we were winning the Feud. We put up one hell of a fight, and I feel that we have all learned that a little bit of extra effort can tip the scales. Next time you're in a Feud or other Vendetta, think about your true impact on events. Perhaps you're just an Apprentice, Novice, or Acolyte. Perhaps you don't have the best in the way of skills, or the most experience. Even so, enter the competition, take the twenty minutes or so out of your day to put in that extra submission. It could be you that wins the War.

Anubis Aneddu, formerly Quaestor's Hand, has left for the Rogues. This means that his position, while not currently open, will be under consideration in the future. What does this mean to you? Well, if you work hard, put in that extra effort, and really grab my attention, you could find yourself invited to be my next Quaestor's Hand. This would mean special input on decisions, advance notice of changes in the House, and more exclusive projects to work on. More exclusive projects, of course, mean bigger rewards. Keep an ear out.

Finally, there are currently three HSK-Wide competitions open for you. Two of them, hosted by our lovely Aedile Cassandra Elsin, are competitions you should definitely enter. They will both give you a chance to have an introspective look at yourself, your House and Clan, and your character in the Brotherhood. Besides, they look like fun. As for the last competition, I have hosted it. One look at it will show that I expect you to write about a battle. Consider it the first in a series of competitions that will be important to this House. The victor's entry will determine the specifics of the next competition, so if there was ever a chance for our members to etch their names into the history of this House, this could very well be it.

Projects:

Rule of Two: I want to get as many capable Equites/Knights as possible training students. Apprenticeship is a great, faster way to advance, and it is often rewarding to both Master and Apprentice.

Home Away From Home: If you have any coding, HTML, or similar skills and want in on a project, contact me immediately.

This is it for now, but expect more in the future.

Special Mention:

I would like to point out a member that shows alot of potential, yet isn't very well-known in our Clan. Tiberius Solidor, you have worked hard and you've had the drive and motivation to seek answers to your questions. I see you going far in this club. Good work!

The Message:

Consistency. Anyone who uses their skills professionally will tell you that it doesn't take them long to dull. Many of us gain experience and practice as we go through this club. We grow to great heights, and sadly, many of us use that as a personal excuse not to work anymore, as if we've already reached the top of the mountain. Only through consistency, through constantly working our skills and keeping our edge, can we ever hope to be at our best.

Conclusion:

While we didn't win the Feud, we put up a good fight. Let us use this as a reason to sharpen our skills, to take what could be and make it what is. Anubis Aneddu has left Plagueis and the position of QUA's hand, so work hard and try your best and you may find yourself in a position of importance. Also, there are a number of competitions and I'd like to see entries from everyone, of every rank, in this House.

Projects Rule of Two and Home Away From Home are soon to begin and updates will be issued as they progress. Also, good work to Tiberius Solidor. Finally, let's keep at it, folks. Only through consistent action and practice can we keep ourselves at the peak of our game. Only from there can we truly hope to ever advance.

Any questions and concerns can be directed to me through personal emails at [Log in to view e-mail addresses] or through personal messages, PMs, on IRC. My door is always open, so if you have a complaint or concern, feel free to fire away.

May the Force serve you well, Satal Keto!
