Quaestor Report

Photobucket

Hello, Cestus. There isn't too much news to give out, what with the summer vacations winding down and the activity levels being incredibly low. But here's what little I have.

Clan Competition Update

"The Renegade Thief" officially ended on August 16th, though according to Anshar, activity was very low. It appears that I was the only one who submitted to the fiction event, and hopefully the next parts of the "Broken" storyline will be more active. I know it's summer, and I'm sure activity will (ironically) pick up when people go back to work and/or school.

House Summit Duties

Similar to what Raiju did with Tridens' house summit, I've decided to reformat the house summit's duties a bit. I figured you all should have the opportunity to view it, and if there's anything you see that perhaps you don't think is right, you can let me know.

Rollmaster: The Rollmaster will maintain his usual duties of welcoming new or transferred members, archiving activity logs, and initiating appropriate AWOLs. However, he will be alternating biweekly reports with the Quaestor, where he will document activity two weeks at a time. The Rollmaster will also be responsible for any and all approved updates to house and battle team wiki pages, should the need for upgrading arise.

Aedile: While the Aedile will no longer submit biweekly reports, he will instead submit a weekly reminder of competitions. This means that he is also in charge of requesting, suggesting, and taking ideas for house competitions. He will monitor medal granting, and he will be in charge of monitoring the forums in terms of ROs (deleting or editing posts if necessary). Of course, the Aedile will maintain the emergency Quaestor duties should the Quaestor suddenly be unfit for leadership temporarily or permanently.

Quaestor: The Quaestor, as always, is the head honcho. The Quaestor will submit a biweekly report detailing house development, upcoming projects and/or plans, and important news updates concerning the house, clan, and/or Brotherhood. She will maintain an open panel with the house summit and house members themselves concerning ideas for fiction, run-ons, and any other updates to the house history and storyline. The Quaestor will also monitor promotion requests, create and manage forum threads, and keep the clan summit updated on any and all major house activity.

AWOL Check

No, we are not doing an AWOL of the entire house. Not yet, anyway. Right now, however, RM K'awiil is sending AWOL checks to any and all members still at the rank of Apprentice. I know that many Apprentices do not go past that particular rank due to lack of interest or other reasons, and we want to keep the roster relatively tidy. Therefore, if you are an Apprentice and are still interested in staying in Cestus, please reply to your Rollmaster's e-mail. Otherwise, you will be transferred to the Rogues on August 29th.

Don't Be Afraid to Confront the Quaestor

This is more of a personal addition to my report, but I feel that it's an important topic to bring up. I have noticed, over time and more recently, that a few people (I won't mention names) have been complaining about certain things I've done or perhaps mistakes I've made. However, instead of speaking directly to me, they are directing their complaints to a third party (again, I will not mention any names), who in turn direct the comments to me. And to be honest, that bothers me.

Guys, if there is anything at all that I'm doing or have done in the past that is bothering you, please do not be afraid to speak to me about it. You can either send me a private message on IRC or send me an e-mail should I not be on the clan channel at the time. Protesting what I do to other people who perhaps don't want to deal with your problem is rude and, in my opinion, shows an unwillingness to professionally discuss any concerns. I am open to fixing or changing policies or the steps I take to get things done, so please take that open opportunity to give feedback to me directly. Don't worry - I don't bite.

Arrivals and Transfers

Everyone welcome Set'na to House Cestus! He recently transferred from House Gladius, and he's already received his first promotion! He's got potential!

Also, please welcome Decessus to House Cestus! RM K'awiil should be sending him a welcome e-mail soon, giving him all the tips he needs to succeed in the Brotherhood.
