The door to the Cantina slid open as Scion approached. Simple uses of the Force came so naturally to him now that it was almost as simple to reach out and tap the door's switch that way than to reach out with his hand. His mind wandered back to his days on the SSSD Sovereign, before he had had any inkling that these powers had been dormant within him.

When Apollo - Joe back then - had first begun to discover his own power, Scion had been bitterly jealous.

"What? Too much work to lean all the way over here and pick up this heavy, heavy bottle with your hand?"

For the first time, he considered whether it was his jealousy that had ultimately driven the two apart. Scion retired as Wing Commander and Joe accepted a new job in the Recon Office, as well as a considerable promotion. Scion's jealously continued unabated. He skipped Joe's party when he was promoted to Fleet Admiral.

Everything changed when Astatine became Grand Admiral. Scion's only thought at that point was that he had to get out. He knew that Joe had already left, but he hadn't bothered to find out where he had gone. His stint in

Intelligence should have given him the tools to find Joe again, but he was conspicuously absent. Fleet Admirals don't just disappear, he had thought.

I hope you'll bear with me while I take a small road trip into Scion's past. It's something I've been wanting to explore for quite some time now. I've had a general idea of what happened ever since I came out of retirement from the EH to join the DJB, but I've never really written about it. Hopefully it won't turn out to be unforgivably dull over the next few reports. Feel free to give any feedback you may have. :)

Activity seems to be picking up. Mechronage, Donos and Severon are all nearing the completion of their work for DJK and a few of you are regularly competing in Severon's weekly trivia. Shardara has been participating in a lot of competitions and working on completing her requirements for JH.

We are adding a couple other regular weekly competitions to add some variety, and to see if we can step it up yet another notch. At the moment, we've got weekly trivia and a weekly cipher so be sure to take a stab at both of them.

So far, nobody has submitted any entries for the cipher, so I'll repeat the URL for you. There will be a new one on Wednesday. At this rate if you can solve it, you are pretty much guaranteed to win something.
