Ladies and Gentleman,

Today is the last day for Herald Style Hanukhah and I gotta say I am really glad it is over. On my end, 72 robes and 192 robes have been completed and our Grand Master has completed 81 robes and 216 lightsabers for this project. Total, we have created 153 robes and 408 lightsabers to be added to the selector. That looks like a lot and honestly it is. When we decided to go this big, we started discussing it in the summer and planning it out in the fall.

What this year's Hanukhah has taught me is that people want their sexiness ASAP, others think that we do this for bragging rights, and others think that we give to the wrong people. We don't do this to say "look how awesome we are" or do this to keep things out of the grasps of others. We do this to give people an incentive to work hard; to go beyond getting their saber, seeing that greater awards wait beyond the ranks and give them something to strive for. As it is mentioned in the Transformers movie, "No sacrifice, no victory."

This was a tradition that Muz began and I was willing to pick up because I remember being a "normal" member and seeing all the cool stuff that people received and thinking how badly I wanted to get those items. Now, I am on the other end on the spectrum and I want to see what blows minds and what just blows. So, without any more waiting, here are today's items. The Regent (DJM) and Ender (DJK) robes, accompanied by the Sinister (DJM) and Recurve (EQ1) lightsabers. Your eyes do not deceive you. That is a UV lightsaber.

For her part in Herald Style Hanukhah, as well as her phenomenal work for me, I have awarded Robin Hawk with a Steel Cross. For helping me in the design of some of the sabers seen in Herald Style Hanukhah, I have awarded Suyo Kenshin with a Dark Cross.

"Every victory cannot be gained without defeat."

This year has given me defeats and stress but in the end, it has ended in victory. I've got a job, I'm with my family, and I'm close to fulfilling some of my goals in life. Can I complain? Hell no. I have set out to do many things I wanted done and have been met with success. Do I consider things in the DB goals in my life? No. I consider the DB as it should be considered: a game. It is my break from events in life and a place for me to geek out.

Lately, I've seen many things that make the DB less fun or more hassle. People worried about promotions and medals over other things, people stirring drama, people saying things just for the simple fact they got nothing better to say. Wheaton's Law: "Don't be a dick". The DB is not just for the Journeymen, the Dark Council or anyone in particular. It's for all of us. We on the Dark Council don't work to serve individual members. We serve the public. Last I checked, "public" was a plural term.

If I honestly have to have a New Year's Resolution for the Brotherhood, it'll be this: serve the public good and nothing else. I will work to bring better graphics and more amazingness for everyone to share as best as I can. I will work to complete projects in a timely fashion. In the same line, take things under consideration. We don't get paid to do this. :P. Now, take care and welcome to 2010!
