[ 0900 hours; The Sword's Sheath; Meeting Room A]

This meeting was different. Silence permeated the air with a dreadful odor, one that had not been seen in Gladius for a long while. Tension laced the room as all of the Gladians shifted in their seats. The first week of the Rite of Supremacy had ended. Some results had come in and they all wanted to know just how their clan had done.

As the Aedile approached the podium where only a week earlier he was booed for just announcing the Rite of Supremacy, his own anticipation coursed through the air. He only had one set of results, but it was a good sign. As he reached the podium, he cleared his throat loadly. Every Gladian's eyes were gazing in to his. Behind him, Scion and Raiju were scanning the mass, watching every reaction. Slowly, Severon began, "Good morning Gladius!"

"Morning." The reply came, short and crisp.

"Gladians, last week we, the House Summit, called out to you to participate in the Rite of Supremacy. Many of you answered, and put much effort into it. And now, we have results of our effort!" Cheering erupted.

Severon waved his hand for silence before continuing, "The results for the first week, for the poetry event." Silence took over as Severon paused. The anticipation was building to a high pitch, so much so that one Novice yelled, "Get on with it!"

Smiling, Severon said, "Our own Raiju Kang, our Rollmaster, has come in fifth place and...the clan has one its first victory over House Revan!" Cheering reigned in the room. There was no place in the entire Sword's Sheath that was silent.

Severon looked over his shoulder at Raiju, who winked and smiled, and then at Scion, who gave a slight grin. Turning back, he declared, "Before I dismiss you, let us chant our motto and believe it."

All together, the Gladians chanted, "Gladian Forever, Forever Gladian!"

"Dismissed!" Severon shouted over the rejoiceing Gladians and hurried to his office to celebrate with a glass of his favorite wine.

Before we move on the the activity, I would like to make it very clear that while we all hope for improvement, please do not make concessions on your real life just to do this. Live your life first and put DB second. However, if the DB is all you do, do it until your mind is gone! Not really but you know what I mean.
