Obelisk Sergeant Report

Greetings Black Hammer,

I want to share a few things with you all. Firstly, I want to reassure you that I am still alive (if your existence of alive is the same as mine). The RoS is going on and me=planning has gone into a lot of my time. I would put out competitions, but I don’t know if that’s a good idea during the RoS.

Mostly what I had this report for is to show you a very rough draft on how I want to reformat the tactical side of Black Hammer Brigade. I want your input and criticism on what you think of the following:

Currently Black Hammer Brigade is set into two different sections each with Tankers and Infantry. Although I think this works well in War and in battle, a Battle-Team (with the idea of it being a “tanking” team) is more of a collective extension of the self. Everyone has their own talents, and we will build them towards tanking abilities, but we must be able to work as a team, and alone also.

When I picture a tank-team, I see people with heavy weapons, heavy armor, and a kick-ass, blow-shit-up attitude, but since we are all individual Dark Jedi, I view it as more like we can handle ourselves, but in a team.

That is why I think the sections have to go, but not for good. Different battles call for different plans. That is why I think the section thing would work in a certain situation. This is what I had in mind for the types of combat we would be facing:

Escort

Hit-and-run

Decimation

Retreat

Offensive Spearhead

Defensive Barrier

Hit-and-cover

Boarding Party

Landing Party

Escort

When faced with a situation where we would be protecting somebody or something, and bringing it or them to some place, we must be prepared to expect the unexpected. This situation is called the Escort (technical term; Escort Formation). In the spirit of expecting the unexpected, the team will be divided into two teams; one team protects the object or person from up close, while the other team scours the surrounding areas in search of dangers, traps, and enemies. So how does tanking involve this? Tanking is more of a way of doing things rather than an action itself. So of course in situations where Black Hammer Brigade will be called to Escort Formation, then heavy armor, a direct approach to combat, and a leave no stone unturned attitude will be used.

Hit-and-run

When most people think hit-and-run (technical term: H&R), they think of a loose group of loosely armed soldiers that attack a specific position in a manner of seconds and then leave. The same goes for Black Hammer Brigade, but except our Hit-and-runs are more destructive. Black Hammer Brigade, in a tanking sense, will not merely hurt someone or smash out a few windows in a building; Black Hammer Brigade will destroy the pillars that the building is put upon or destroy all the protection around a person, and let them die in whatever harsh environment they are in. Think of it this way; instead of shooting the bull’s eye on the target, we completely destroy the stand that it is sitting on.

Decimation

Decimation (technical term: Decimation Protocol) is simple. Go in where our objective is, do a thoroughly heavy search of the area, and then destroy all buildings, troops, armored vehicles, etc. This is the preferred method of combat by Black Hammer Brigade, because it is a fully tanking method of combat.

Retreat

Although rare, some situations do call for a retreat (technical term: Retreat Mode). In that case, Black Hammer Brigade should be the final people holding the line. That way the weaker people and teams can get away while the stronger slowly make their way back.

Offensive Spearhead

An Offensive Spearhead (which is the technical term) is used when entering a battle on the battlefield. The team members will form a spear with the BT leader at the front, while the rest go diagonally backwards. This formation can lead a group of troops into battle, or even men in certain vehicles.

Defensive Barrier

Defensive Barrier (also its own technical term) is when a team forms a straight line and defends a specific point on the battlefield. It does not have to be perfectly straight, but the general idea is to make sure nothing can penetrate the line.

Hit-and-cover

Although the term hints at hiding, it means that in no way. Hit and cover (technical term: H&C) means that the team will be split into two sections again (two of the most powerful teammates leading them). Two teams will go into an objective from two different directions. While the two strongest members aim for the objective (and hit it hard), the rest of the team will be covering the backs of the two strongest from enemy fire.

Boarding Party

A Boarding Party is needed when there is a tough opposition on the other almost-boarded ship. Black Hammer Brigade would go in and lay waste to the entry point as much as they could. Then they would continue on whatever mission they would do.

Landing Party

A Landing Party is needed for the same thing that a Boarding Party is needed for, except that it involves a ground assault.

I want input on this from the BT and other members if they feel necessary.

Originally this was going to be written to just the summit, then I changed it to the members, then I thought, “WTF! Why can’t everyone read it?” So that’s why it’s here.

Now for my little spiel on Taldryan . . . I was gonna write out some big thing, but I decided it isn’t worth the finger presses to tell you how we’re gonna win. That doesn't mean we shouldn't try though. We should really act like we haven't won anything yet, thereby possibly defeating them anyway.
