Rollmaster Report

It was dark as Kaira made her way to Koga's office at the Dark Tower on Kapsina. She had not seen him for a few days as their jobs kept them busy. Her hand was about to touch the controls to open the door to Koga's office when she turned to see Quejo. He stood there for a moment before he spoke. “I would like to talk to you for a moment Kaira." She sighed but followed him.

Kaira could feel that this wouldn't just be a friendly little talk with Quejo. It seemed he was quite angry over something. She was sure what ever was going on she wasn't going to like it. From the moment they walked into his office Kaira felt she was in for a fight.

“You are to leave this office, head back to your ship, and back to your house. That is where your job is. Both you and Koga have seen enough of each other as of late and your work is suffering. Now, if I were you, I would leave now before you make this worse on yourself and Koga." Quejo said with a look to his eyes that said don't cross me.

The Krath took in a deep breath before her mouth opened. “To hell with this, Quejo! I will see my husband when I feel like it. That work you seem to think is so important can wait."

Kaira knew the moment her mouth shut that she had made a big mistake. Quejo was next to her before she could blink. He raised his hand ready to strike her but stopped.

“If you don't leave now I will make you leave," he said, his voice strained with anger.

Rather than fight with Quejo, Kaira turned and walked out disgusted with what had just happened. “I will be back Quejo and you won't stop me."

Well the Winter Olympics are over. The USA came out on top of the medal count. A number of the US team members did great. If you watched any of the Olympics at all you would have heard stories like this one: Joannie Rochette of Canada lost her mother the just two days before she stepped onto the ice for her short program in figure skating. After that the Olympic Committee President praised her for going out and still competing though her loss. In the end she came out of the Olympics with a bronze medal. To some that might seem like well she got third, why would anyone care? I think this story proves that you don’t have to win the gold; sometimes it is better to just get out there and compete no matter what may happen. She could have just said, “No, I can't do it. My mother just died. I need time." Yet she had trained all her life for this, and she knew her mother would want her to do it. She went out there to show us all what true heart and determination can do for any of us.

I want to say congrats to all Canadians for putting on a great games. Even if they were not a part of it personally every Canadian should be proud of what their country has accomplished. Really, I am okay with that. We still got second, so that makes us second best to them. It is not so bad being second best or even third best for you can say at the end of the day I was an Olympian and I went out there and gave it my all for my country.

We should remember that and try our best in major events here in the Brotherhood for our clan. Think about it: no matter what you would do there is always a second and third place. You may not make it to first but maybe you could get third, and that is just as good some times as a first place. Why? Because you tried. You went out there and did something and that is all anyone could ask of any of you is to at least try.
