The Fist of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood Report

** Gaming Statistics **

Before I start

I want to personally give a shot out to two people in this club that is well deserving of this. One is Archangel, who noticed my desire to make sure we had more matches and people than the month before. He went and found serveral new people and got them gaming in this club, even taking time away from his wiki lovin and did what it took to make sure we hit the numbers we did. I cannot express my gratitude enough to Arch for going above and beyond the call of what normally is expected from each of us. Next would be my biggest critic Dante, Hes also in the same shoes as Archangel when it comes to wanting only the best from our club and especially from the gaming. Hes been a previous Tribune of Gaming and he knowns just as much as I do, and we all share the same goal to better thing club. As Im usually crunching numbers midway through the month and trying to find soultions Dante and Archangel took the reins and kept asking away and getting those matches in and having fun while do it. Both of these guys deserve all the major props for what we as a club have succeeded so far, its been each month I have seen the same desire from both of them and I appreciate all the efforts.

My gratitude goes out to both of these fine members, along with those that took the time and kicked some serious butt in the process, each of you below and above have my thanks! Now for the specifics for the month.

** Final Gaming Results **

Weekly Pendants of Blood

Week 1: OE Angelo Palpatine Dante with a 57-17 record Week 2: SBL Maar-Tyrius Ga-Tir with a 43-5 record Week 3: OE Cethgus Entar with a 22-6 record Week 4: SBL Maar-Tyrius Ga-Tir with a 31-2 record Week 5: This rolls into September, so it has not been awarded yet

Jedi Academy Competition

The first part of the competition was cut short due to lack of people interested in the guns side of Jedi Academy. But below are the results

1.st Place: Eetherbiail with a 38-8 record 2.nd Place: Archangel with a 19-15 record 3.rd Place: Melfeckt with a 5-17 record Pendant of Blood for the Best win-loss for the Competition: Eetherbiail

Beat the Staff Competition

The competition ended up with 1.st level Crescents, due to having 19+ people that actually played against the staff.

1.st Place: Locke with a 21-1 record 2.nd Place: Dante with a 18-11 record 3.rd Place: Benevolent with a 11-1 record

Allegiance

Zero Submissions on this competition, so the crescents went unawarded. Once again, this would have been a easy way to win some shineys!

DBGaming Trivia

Well this went over without too many hitches, besides from the retard neighbor that got arrested and the cops thinking his address was my address and I was him (Thank god I had my Drivers license from Colorado on me and a certified Birth certificate HAHA). Anyways, Results were 1.st place: Howlader, and 2.nd place: Fremoc. Creator of the trivia was Locke. So all three got the LSS's

Next trivia will be on September 30.th at 7pm CST, If you have 26 questions of either DB related or Gaming trivia Send it to me, and you get awarded a LSS's if used. (Your questions must be iron clad, with no "up for interruptation") Same rule applies, you must have at least 1 game in before the start of the trivia. Otherwise you can sit and watch the questions and answers fly

** Topics of Discussion **

Republic Commando 2v2 Sign-up Team Tournament

I will be accepting sign-ups for the 2v2 tournament till midnight on the 17.th of September, email me at ([Log in to view e-mail addresses]) Also please include the best time frame that you will be on to play, so that I may better pair you with someone. Yes I did say I will be pairing you with someone.

Staff Positions

With Fremoc stepping down due to real life concerns, I have been approached by several people asking me if I plan to open up a few spots. While I do appreciate the interests in this, I would like to say that at the moment I will not be opening up a position for the time being. As I am not that busy to the point where I would warrant any Magistrates at this time.

ICTE and Sunday Invitational Tournaments

While this has been dead for some time now, I have had one person constantly come to me want to see this happen again, and as I explained to him it had its many faults in the first place. I will be looking for a way to revamp this long tradition. In the past it had just turned into another gaming day/night and I want to get away from this completely...if the other clubs want a inter club gaming day I would consider it on a 1 day a month fashion. We will have a new channel if the ICTE will be brought back to life, so I will keep people posted on that end, I will start doing some serious work with it during the Vendetta.

Sunday Invitational Tournaments were started back when I was Tribune, with some custom stuff give to people in the past. I would like to make this a once a month event again, but there is plenty of work to do with what could if anything be offered...and most importantly how this will run. So keep your eyes out for this as well in the future

Rites of Combat

With the nearing of the Vendetta in October I would ask that all House Summits, forward your members to the Rites of Combat here As many things have been added in, and some are still the same. I will not tolerate that bs in this channel during a vendetta with your members not knowing about the rules, and ignorance is not bliss. So please pass along the rules to them. As the policy will be simple, with serious infractions leading to possible bans and the House summit answering for them, to Kir having to take over. Im not a fan of removal of people, but push the issue too far and you get no where quickly, but a vacation. With acting out of line in the channel will just get you banned, until I have a discussion with the house summit. Like I said in the past, the summits will be accoutable for their members, please do not take this lightly.

Gaming Servers

All the servers are listed here. Adminstraters as follows to help with any problems if I happen to be away JA Server: Muz, Fremoc, Dessan and myself all have the access to restart the server

JO Server: Benevolent, Fremoc, Muz, Dante, Kaira, and myself all have the access to restart the server

RC Server: Fremoc, Muz, Dante, Kaira, and myself all have the access to restart the server

How Awarding of Pendants of Blood are done

Pendants of Blood are awarded in two fashions. Fashion 1 is when I tack them onto a exsisting competition for your benifit, and Fashion 2 is when its for Gaming Nights. I do not recoginize a ratio or percentage factor, since its gay. Here is my reason, How does a 11-1 record beat a 11-10 record? It doesnt.....What do I look at first, I look at wins first and if those are tied between two or more people then I look at the total games as the deciding factor. I know some people dont like this but, if you want to make sure your in the runnings for a Pendant of Blood dont leave it open and a close call. As Dana White(UFC Fame) has said, "Boys, dont leave it in the hands of the judges." What hes saying is you are the judges, either go all out or go home.

Now is there any other way for a Pendant of Blood to be awarded or decided? Yes, Dante asked me awhile back, (yes dante is like my biggest critic) Smoke, I won that pendant of blood for this week why did someone else get it over me? Well if during the week a competition has a pendant of blood already pending for that competition, then those matches would be stricken from the Pendant of Blood for Gaming Nights so any other game would count towards that Pendant. Yes there is always a chance for a second one to be awarded. Now if the competition has no pendant of blood pending all matches would be acceptable.

Houses Competitions with regards to Gaming

Since I do plan on a monthly schedule for all gaming within this club, and with multiple awards up for grabs. I have discussed this with Muz, Korras and Driftan and we are all under the same agreement. That any future competitions would need to be brought directly to my attention (This is not an attempt to micro-manage either) I will either approve or deny your request based on what is currently running, and if the competition looks to draw in more people. Since the ideals behind these types of competitions actually go against, the Rites of Combat. How? Well its simple if the gaming competition is for say only a Battle Team, then we see people only wishing to play against the team. Thus the rest of the Brotherhood is left to suffer. So if anyone does try and submit a competition to Korras or Driftan under the Gaming standard, this will be denied. Please do not blame them, as this was not their idea to begin with....Come see me if you want to vent.

The Rule of 6

What is the Rule of 6? I have seen a trend where a competition was won with a tie, and some of the placers winning with only losses. While I do appreciate the effort put into making our gaming one of the best out there. I still think that having enough people to make this work is the only solution to what the awards are meant for. So as of September 1.st till otherwise noted, competitions will only have the crescents and a pendant of blood awarded if at least 6 people take part in the event.

Comments, Questions, or just random thoughts?

Q: Archangel asked: Are Houses allowed to run their own gaming competitions, and should they go through you?? A: As I stated above, you would need to come directly to me before submitting, and most likely I would deny the competition based on what we do now offer for gaming within our club, but you still have a chance to sway me in your favor. If you have a suggestion I would graciously enterain the idea for a future competition. As I am open to ideas and suggestions all the time.

Q: Unknown author asked: Fist why do you always say you dont count in the competitions? A: As much as I would like to award myself a crescent for the massive gaming that I do do or the wins I have accomplished. I dont feel its right to be a Dark Council Memeber and take all the medals away from those that are activity based in the promotions. What am I allowed to award myself? Well Clusters of Fire and Pendants of Blood are my only award the rest go to the memebers, and even I have lost out on Pendants of Blood as well (dang you Dante!!!).

Q: Schisca asked: What's the harm in making SC2 official? A: My answer with this has been answered many times over, if you have a idea for a game to be used, I will look at it. If that platform looks like it would get some use, I will run a competition for it, based on the results of that I will determine if I should approach the Grand Master and Deputy Grand Master if they will agree on the concept then it could be placed into effect. What I have seen was a few good games not get the exposure due to lack of interest, or just not even Sci-Fi related. As in the last Report on the August 15.th. We look at games in this fashion Star Wars 1.st, Star Wars Modded games 2.nd, and Sci-Fi related games used last. Now with the lack of modded games and what if any interest we see in them, I normall look at all Sci-Fi games, this is also coupled with the fact that Lucas Arts hasnt released anything we could use in some time.

Q: Cethgus asked: Will consul gaming be allowed in GJW's and RoS's as well as on a more regular basis such as gaming nights? A: At the moment, Consul gaming is not scheduled for a GJW or RoS since that would need to be a Star Wars game and we are so limited. As for always being used during a Gaming Night, at this time what I have been instructed was unless that console game is a Star Wars game then it would not be used. Dont get me wrong Cethgus, I love playing Halo3 and I really enjoyed playing some people in this club as it was fun to the max. But I couldnt not at this moment really say it would be allowed. That would need the Grand Masters and Depty Grand Masters seal of approval

Q: Keia asked: Where'd you get your mad gaming skills? A: While not to sound egotistical or having a chip on my shoulder, and Im flattered someone would even say this. I have logged so many games in the last 6 years of my time in the DB that I can still remember the months where I went winless with well over 200 games played, does this weigh on a person, yes it does. In the end I found people that were willing to show me the ropes in each game, and with a lot of practice and more and more games. I got better, yes I have been away for a year or so and its taken me alittle bit to get back into the swing of things. However in the near future I will be doing a trainning program with people willing like myself to help others out. Also I will say while I play people, if I see they struggle in gaming I tend to give them pointers and hints. Be that showing them the stuff I have learned to where some of the stuff is in each map. But in the end of the day the worst thing I want to see is my bashing a person has caused them less interest in gaming, and those on my staff are instructed to do the same. Anyone for that matter should always take the time to help those that are new in this club out otherwise we see people lose interest in gaming and go find something else to do. So yes, if when Im on I have never had a issue with helping people out while playing them, in the hopes that those people get better, and can one day have their names on the top of the leaderboard.

Q: Impetus M'Nar asked: My internet connection isn't fast enough to play games. Whenever I play BF2 I always get absolutely terrible lag, is that more likely to be a problem with the ISP or the wireless router or what else could it be? A: This is answered in a few fashions, if your getting lag it could be a computer issue, start with eliminating all possible issues. Shut off all the unneeded programs, browsers and chat programs (except mIRC), check to make sure your computer fits into the realm of compatibilty with each of the games (ie: ram, and cpu), finally look at your internet speed its not a factor if your wireless or wired net, just make sure your upload and download speeds are not DIAL UP. If further issues with lag are present look at the router or modem since that is the major connection to the pc and net. Sometimes routers go on the fritz and need to be replaced, other times its as simple as reseting the router.

** Q: Archangel asked: Will more maps be added to JA/JO, Will more be added specifically for competitions or Like CTF for Vendetta or something, and Will the DB take up creating its own maps for specific purposes?** _ A: I will begin with each part. JA and JO will see some special maps in the future, as always I will allow a vote on what I find on the forums board, but yes we will see some maps in the near future. Next, Usually I will not limit the maps to just for a competition those will always be a single player map, once its on the server it will stay there unless complaints arise of lack of interest. Finally, I do have the programs nessacary to create our own maps, however Ive never had the time to really sit down and figure out the programs, and this does take alot of time to create a map of epicness, so if anyone out there wants to tinker with them, shot me an email and we can talk. Plus creativity will be a huge part of making something to go WOW about._

Q: Taigikori asked: Fist, are we bffs? A: Yes we are, and this is why, it comes from the willingness to make sure that this club is top notch, and the fact we do have the same common goal for the club. I can't count how many long conversations we have had in the DC channel about what it takes to make things right, even with the time I spent as a worker for Taig and Aabs in the shadow academy grading exams and trying to make even that are to be the best it can be. So yeah, it takes alot of give and take from both ends. Also dont tell anyone but a lot of its plenty of man loving (sorry taig, but you asked for it :P )

Republic Commando and the Custom maps

In the near future I will be clearing out some of the custom maps that well lack the interest in the club, some will stay on the server in a seperate folder while others will be deleted all together. As much as I like the looks of them, some of the huge maps like Gulch just do not have a use unless its for a team event. Others like Wizard Shot have such a huge following, and is personally one of my favorites that I will not ever get rid of this map. I will be on the look out for maps and will need to have a few outside opinions as to what people think of them.
