Primus Pilus Commander Report June 10, 2011

_Jusadih System Morroth, Sigil 5 34 ABY Temple of Plagueis

The halls of the Upper Tier were abuzz with rumor, Journeyman and Equite alike gathering in groups to discuss the Rollmaster's decision. To the post of Battleteam Leader had been selected a Dark Jedi that none had suspected; a Rogue for the past few months, formerly the man in charge of the entire system, and one of the few di Plagia left to active service. The Equites all knew the man, some respecting him as an equal or even an ally while others had as much trust for a starving gundark as for their new Commander. Some Journeymen remembered him, a few knowing his praise, others his wrath, while the newer recruits had heard enough to be interested. Many didn't believe it would truly be him... until they felt the dark presence enter the Temple.

"He's here, Master," Imichua Haruki's words drew Tiberius out of his meditative trance. "It's him, alright."

"As I suspected. Domus wouldn't announce it otherwise." The lisp in his words was barely detectable. As he stood, he wrapped himself in a thick cloak; even indoors, Morroth blizzards chilled the air. "Come. The nexu's much less of a threat when you know where he is."

The proverb was just one more piece of philosophy that Imichua had learned from his Master, a man of few words but many thoughts. The two entered the main room as the dark entity flowed into the room, feeling like ice and shadow to the senses of the Jedi Hunter. Equites held the emerald gaze, while Journeymen often looked away, nodded, or bowed before moving on. They all knew what this man had done, from forcing control of the system to overseeing the clearing of this very Temple. Kal di Plagia Vorrac strode into the room, his robes coated in snow but his body clear of any signs of freezing[TAP]. Dropping his cloak to the floor, he displayed the newest piece of attire, an elbow-length half-cloak on his right shoulder; emblazoned upon the black fabric was a crimson insignia of Plagueis. A durasteel chain held the garment on, with a clasp displaying an hourglass to match Kal's lightsaber.

"Taskmaster." Someone whispered among the many Apprentices, Novices, and Acolytes.

"Disciples of House Plagueis," Kal said coldly, looking them over, "I am here for one purpose; to return the way of the Sith to this House. The weak will no longer be sheltered; the strong will no longer be allowed to sit idle." Touching the Mantle on his shoulder, Vorrac looked to the younglings. "My duty as Taskmaster will be to be as harsh, brutal, and unforgiving as possible. Assume that you will not survive." Looking to those of Primus Pilus, his face took on a more severe cast. "My duty as Commander is equal, and yet more; it is not enough to be powerful here. You must learn to use that power." Looking over them all, he spotted Tiberius, pointing at him. "Di Cloud. Come with me, I have need of you."

"My Apprentice, too." Tiberius said, his voice sounding as if he were fighting the urge to say "Sir". Kal had been a forceful Quaestor. "Wherever I am sent, he will follow. Against orders, if need be."

"Very well," the older Sith said, giving Haruki an appraising look. "So long as he can keep up."_

News

Good evening, Primus Pilus. I am your new Commander, Kal di Plagia Vorrac. For those who are long-time Plagueians and who haven't been on a really long hiatus, you'll know me or know of me. For the rest, I was Quaestor of Plagueis only months before and have been a Plagueian for pretty much my entire DB career. I have one purpose and one purpose only as Primus Commander: I am here to whip the Battleteam into shape.

To that end, the most vital Pilus news: My policies as Battleteam Leader. They are as follows:

  • All members must maintain an Activity Standard. This can either be regular competition entries or regular activity in a specific medium, which we'll discuss. I'll have a full breakdown of different forms of activity by the end of the week.

  • All members must have an approved Character Sheet on record. You all have one week to attempt CS approval; if your CS is rejected, we'll sort it out.

  • All members must maintain a behaviour standard. No harassing members, no recruitment, no poor behaviour or petty trolling. Refer to the Dark Covenant for anything that'll get you expelled from Pilus instantly; for minor infractions, you each have three strikes.

  • All members must respect the chain of command for Pilus and Plagueis. For Pilus, Battleteam Members are below Flight Leaders, while Flight Leaders are below the Battleteam Leader. Following that, the Rollmaster, Aedile, and Quaestor rank in that order. Respect the decisions of superiors or see a swift kick in a soft spot after three strikes.

  • All members must attempt to boost Plagueian morale and activity at least once per week. I don't want to see email spam; this will not count if emailing the googlegroup is all that you do. Talk to new people in and out of the House, participate in different competitions, challenge different opponents in the ACC, game with different people, teach a newbie here or elsewhere, etc. I must see and be able to confirm something like this every week, or you go with only one warning.

  • Reports will contain vital information and policy changes. Anyone who does not read a report does so at their own risk; I won't accept "Didn't read the report" as a reason not to can you if you break a new rule. Keep yourself in the loop at all times.

Now that that bit of fun is out of the way, I announce my Flight Leaders: Imichua Haruki and Tiberius di Cloud. These two members are active, dedicated, and will do their jobs well. As Flight Leaders, they will be my left and right hands. Respect their position, seek their help when needed, and be ready for them to take charge when things get busy.

Competitions

One of the things I will stress here is that Battleteam members learn how to find competitions and their specifics. In that light, I want you all to go to the Competition Listing page and find things that apply to you. Here's a link, unless you can already get there:

I trust that you can all find the "Stuff that matters to me" link.

Identity

Here in Primus Pilus, we're not just Plagueians. We're not just Battleteam Members. We're devoted to the cause, absolutely motivated. In our DB lives, we eat, sleep, and breathe this stuff. Whatever you can do or want to do, we'll get you doing. Whatever you can try, whoever you can take on, do it. Show them that Pilus is the few, the proud, the cradle and crucible of excellent Dark Jedi. From Pilus, we sew the seeds that will grow the future. In Pilus, we practice with the blades that will rend the flesh of Plagueian foes. As Pilus, we are unstoppable. By Pilus, we will become undefeated.

Conclusion

Not my longest report, but it covers what is necessary. I won't do a TL;DR section. If it's too long for you to find the important information and care to read it, then that's your own loss. I encourage you all to read this report, to learn my policies, and to challenge my teaching methods at every turn. I will make you struggle and try; I will force you to come out onto the field and take a swing. I will push you, bend you, and probably break a few of you. For the rest, I will burden you and harry you, I will make you fight to succeed, and by it, I will make you great.

Try me, Primus Pilus. Show me who's got the guts to win.

Adapt. Ascend. Avail.
