Quaestor Report

Sen set down his hooked knife on the table next to the projector and his helmet. The Ubese had pumped the small plastic chamber drained of oxygen and mimicking the lifestyle of generations of his race. The mask had been his father's once, before a run-in with rival crime lords left Keliss stabbed seventeen times. For that matter, the knife was also from his father - left in his father's side, rather, jammed to the handle so it held between the ribs.

As he settled into his environment, he set up the mission information that he'd recieved from his client - garbled from botched decryption, but still mostly understandable. Sen had always favored the active side of the underground, studying every variant of knife fighting he could while letting opportunities for stronger security slip away. He was capable, but the algorithms were never precisely on mark.

"You should't concern yourself with the organization that shelters the targets. If you accept this, you'll be hired as a striking force and not as an investigator."

Sen's wide eyes stared at the fragmented image of the man, the rough outline of military uniform and what might have been medals or buckles across his chest. It was hard to keep his mind from wavering into the questions of who the man was - even when he had been hired as a simple murderer.

In the first touch of the cold water against his face, Eiko remembered why he'd decided to drink warm water from here until he had the time to properly numb the area. The shock ran along his jawline to the back of his neck where the skin prickled. Hairs he hadn't been able to trim off of his face jutted out from underneath the scabs.

He wanted to ignore the image of Alaris Jinn sealing his flesh as he focused on his work, beginning to extract whatever information had survived on the burnt and fragmented recording media. He smelled the carbon burning as he slowly worked to clean the shards as he leaned over his workbench. Instinctually, he gagged. His fingers shifted to the lip of his mask, purging the ventilation system and starting the process of recycling the moisture from his breath into stale air. Jadus found it. Jadus knew where Revan was.

He pulled a swab from the jar next to him and started cleaning.

DB News Digest SW:TOR is out for preorder and rumors are floating around about its eventual release date. Muz dropped a beautiful preview of the GJWX comic and announced some of the details for the event: namely, it will be a 4-week slug-fest with a fantastic comic and a fictionalization. What's better than that, folks? It'll be here in about a month and a half, give or take a few weeks. Ji has resigned QUA of Odan-Urr. AWOL check happened. The Imperial Directorate, a fellow club, has closed its doors...

Revan News ... and Revan swept through the gaming world (who thought I'd ever say that?), taking Gaming House of the month. Other than that, we've survived an AWOL check and I've had the chance to talk to a lot of people who are working on getting toward their next rank, achievement, or other mile marker.

Competitions We have three competitions running right now. You should have seen the message run through the Google Group later (more on that later), but in case you missed it, here they are:

[Revan] Contacts - until August 31 Detail an NPC in your information network. This can be in a short fiction or a dossier format - as long as it's written.

[Revan] Miami Shark - until August 15 Play the game, get the highest score, get the crescent.

[Revan] Sydney Shark - August 16 to 31 Miami Shark, in Sydney! Same rules as last time: play it, get the high scores, get more crescents.

[Revan] Trivia Ladder II - until September 30 Monthly trivia with a point system that rolls over. Participate, accumulate points, win.

AWOL Results We are down to twenty-four members - far less than I would have liked or expected based on our pre-check. If you are not one of those twenty-four members, then get back in and move yourselves from rogue to Revan. I will be cleaning out the Google Group to reflect our current membership once this report is posted.

Quaestor's Notes Alright, so I'm always up for experiments. Experiments are great ways to see how things really work, to try and break the patterns that are holding us back. I'd like to try sending you smaller chunks of information on a more regular basis. Can it work?

If you have Twitter, find the newest experiments: @HouseRevan and @EikoLanzer

I'm on IRC, email, and Formspring as well.
