September 16th, 2011 Report #2

=====================Introduction===================== No fiction this time, couldn’t come up with anything I liked. :P Lots of changes recently, medals awarded, new people in, others out. GJW coming up so we’re trying to gear up for that. I want to make one thing perfectly clear: I don’t expect you to be the best at everything you do here or to participate in every competition that is available. While that would be great, I’d rather you all were having fun. If you participate in every competition for the GJW, fantastic. If you submit to just one, just as fantastic. Give it all an honest effort based on what time you have available. Just because I don’t expect you all to participate in everything doesn’t mean you don’t have to participate at all. It doesn’t take much to put out a fiction submission for a competition especially since you’re not writing books for each comp. A quick one or two page story that isn’t your best work or even doesn’t make a whole lot of sense is better than sitting there twiddling your thumbs saying “I’ll participate eventually.” Saying you’ll try to participate is a waste of time. Do or do not, there is no try.

=====================House News=====================

•GJW is starting on the 25th. •Competitions going on, be sure to participate. •Guin is stepping down as BTL of the Lightwalkers. I don’t know what I’m going to do with the battleteams right now so hold off on sending in applications. •Quejo is no longer Aedile. I will be accepting applications for the position, look for a separate email to cover that in the next few days. •OSTAD is currently running a mission as practice for the GJW. If you are a member of that team, go to the forum and get caught up on what’s going on and participate, get some practice in.

===================Lessons from the Light=============== And now for this reports Lessons from the Light, brought to you by the wonderful people at Coca Cola. Without whom I would not be able to stay awake right now to complete this lesson and this report. The Structure of the Jedi Order While the Dark Brotherhood as many ranks that its members progress through, the Jedi Order had few. Four ranks to be precise. Through training and deed the Jedi progressed through these ranks. Only the Jedi Council was able to promote a member of the Order to the next rank. These ranks were as follows: Jedi Initiate: This is the earliest rank in the Order. It was granted to the Jedi when they were old enough for individual instruction, for most humanoids this was around the age of 2. They were trained in the Jedi Temple and spent many hours in the Archives and under the tutelage of the staff. Jedi Padawan: When Initiates reached adolescence, they were allowed to be chosen by a Knight or Master for apprenticeship. Most of their training occurred off world wherever their master was assigned. Jedi Knight: When they pass the trials and are no longer bound to their masters, Padawans reach the rank of Jedi Knight. They are free to travel the galaxy in service to the Order and they are now able to take on a student of their own. Jedi Master: If a Knight has trained a Padawan to their own Knighthood, then the Jedi has demonstrated deepest understanding of the Force and the Jedi Order. At this time, they are promoted to Master ranking and are given a seat on the Jedi Council.

This is a short lesson to show you one of the simplest and greatest difference we have with the Dark Jedi Brotherhood.
Now take this lesson and meditate on what has been said.
