Quaestor Report

Howdy Odanites! (is that the demonym we're using? I can never remember :P)

I hope you all are enjoying your long weekend. This afternoon and a bit this weekend I will be on the TOR beta so let me know if you're there too and we can murder some Sith in the neck together. I also want to give a brief thank you to Drodik and Jendan who are making my ... fifth? term as Quaestor possible. Without them I'd be drowning in way more work than I can handle and so far they're doing an extremely admirable job as summit. I would also like to thank Kaira and Korroth for working on the Battleteams :)

And now... some news!

DB NEWS

As you all have probably heard IH Revan is closing (sad day!). Though it's a shame to lose that shiny planet Salas V, we are picking up several members as a result. I've already sent out a welcome email to the house, but in case you've missed it Lambow and Enapace have joined our ranks. CBO and DS are also thinking about transferring once the house closes for real, which is scheduled for today. So if they come be sure to give them a nice Jedi-like welcome (with flowers and love, man).

Combat Master is open for applications. Our very own Guin has submitted a strong app so let's all keep our fingers crossed that he is the DB's next CM.

P:DGM is also open! Send in your applications as soon as possible! I can tell you from experience that working with Halc is a great pleasure and this position is a great way to advance your career in the DJB.

HOUSE NEWS

Our Order of Battle is coming along nicely and we have decided to name Quejo commander of the military. Here are the tasty tidbits! Drodik and I have decided to name HOU's military the Kotahitanga-Unity Defense Force (this includes the Tythonian Space Militia). Kotahitanga is Harakoan (i.e. Maori :P) for Unity so I thought that worked out nicely. There are also some nice Wikipedia articles coming along written by Enapace, Drodik and Elleron. Great job so far guys! Here's a link in case you haven't checked it out yet: http://wiki.darkjedibrotherhood.com/view/Kotahitanga-Unity_Defense_Force

If you are interested in being a militia captain let me know. We have positions open for the air force (not space force), special forces, droid commandos, and armor so volunteer and chances are you'll get a fun position that comes with an interesting wiki article to write (for which you will receive a merit award upon completion).

The event with Arcona has gone fairly poorly in the planning stages. We couldn't agree on content or a timetable and neither side has been all that willing to budge. Sorry about that, I'll start talking with other Quaestors about doing something similar over the next couple months. Do you guys have a preference on which house you would like to work with? I was thinking Naga Sadow or Scholae Palatinae. In any case, partner up with Arconans and submit to the event anyway. Might as well get yourselves some fat, happy crescents (2nd level I think... big)

Regarding tribes... Since didn't get AED and quit I have decided to take his tribal grant. We do need more hosts to populate the military. If you are interested in what a tribe constitutes please check out the Wiki article I wrote. It is a pretty good idea of what we are looking for: http://wiki.darkjedibrotherhood.com/view/Iwu_Zawag

See the attachment to this email for a sneak preview at the second-gen Harakoan :P

MEMBER NEWS

I'm not going to go through and list every medal. That's Jendan's job. But here are some important messages that deserve to be noted.

Jendan is Equite 1! She's worked hard for a long time I think I speak for all of us when I say that the house is very proud of and happy to have her. Congratulations should be replied to this thread (or given on IRC :))

Marcus Revak is Protector! He's moving along quickly and pounding through the Shadow Academy. An excellent job so far, I'm looking forward to him reaching Jedi Knight :)

COMPETITIONS

BREAKING BREAD (ENTRIES DUE 30. November, 2011) http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/dbjedi/competition.php?id=5955 The devastation wrought about by the war has left all of the inhabitants of New Tython/Harakoa in shambles. The survivors who are beginning to rebuild are faced with great difficulties especially as a harsh winter on Owyhyee looms on the horizon. With little time to allow their differences divide them the great populations of Colonists, Harakoans and Jedi band together in an effort to make peace amongst each other to survive.

This profound sense of community during this harsh time eventually culminates in a massive celebration of thanks; your job is to document this phenomenon.

Participants are to create a fiction (1 pg min/no max) or a series of graphical images (Comic :P). For this event you’ll need to describe how and why this ‘Thanksgiving’ celebration occurred. Furthermore go into details on all the specifics, what did all these people do for the celebration, what’d they eat, was there music and dancing, games? Whatever as long as you get creative Odanites!

You may if you wish complete both of the Fiction or Graphic elements of this event combined, however grading will be based on quality, depth, in-universe realism.

PAINT A TOOKEY IN PAINT!!!!11!! (The Sequel) (ENTRIES DUE 5. December, 2011) http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/dbjedi/competition.php?id=5983 In this retelling of the traditional painted turkey competition, you must reimagine the classical turkey. Remember, this is a sequel so the turkey could be: - a cyborg - a zombie - a superhero

Anything like that is fine (use your imagination!)

HOLIDAY HAIKU (ENTRIES DUE 5. December, 2011) http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/dbjedi/competition.php?id=5984 Write a small haiku about the holidays. Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanza (is that even real?), or anything of that nature is fine.

AN ODAN-URR CHRISTMAS (ENTRIES DUE, 5. December, 2011) http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/dbjedi/competition.php?id=5985 In two to three double spaced pages write a description of a holiday party among the Jedi (and maybe some Harakoans) on New Tython.

Where does the party take place? Who is invited? Who is NOT invited ( ;) )? Anything like this is fine and the more descriptive you are the better.

IN CLOSING

There are plenty of competitions to participate in. Most of them are small, little and fun, but there are a couple bigger ones too for fatter crescents :)

Much Love, Ji

PS: Get in touch with me about the militia captain thing and what house you'd like me to push to host a joint event
