Fist of the Brotherhood Report

<small>Report #13</small>

One year has passed.

Holy [Edited for content]. I've been Fist for a year, and my god have we been busy. We've seen tons of Rites of Combat changes, addition of a lot of new games, free for all and matchmaking added, and a metric ton of Clusters of Fire and Pendants of Blood awarded. Am I done yet? Nope. So let's begin because this report is a bit of a large one.

Over the last month there has been a discussion about the Rites of Combat and us trying to find anything that could be done to plug some holes that were some what visible. As Muz touched is his report, joining and immediately leaving #dbgaming is found to be under match dodging. But we added a few other rules as well. We also removed a few games and retired them from the Rites, these include: Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight, Rebellion, Galactic Battlegrounds, the X-Wing series, Alien versus Predator, and the Resistance Series. All of these games have been placed on a new Retired page so that during a Vendetta or a random competition through the year, if I wish to allow them, they can be. The reason this is being done is because these games are rarely, if ever played outside of a Vendetta. It also keeps the accepted platforms fresh and not hugely outdated. But we also have some new changes added to the mix and I might as well list them here:

Under General Conduct: * You can play 6 matches against one person on one platform, and play as many platforms as you want * Stick to the rules and the spirit of the competition. Do not try to circumvent the Rites in any way. The Rites are meant to create an understandable, uniform playing area for all members to enjoy gaming within the club. "Gaming the rules" to try to give yourself an advantage over your opponents is unfair and unpleasant to those around you. (Translation: Don't be a dick) * Don't idle on the gaming servers to look for matches, that's what #dbgaming is for.

Under Vendetta Rules: * One member per unit can participate in a Free for all. Example: 1 member from ARC, 1 member from TAL, and 1 member from CNS is acceptable.

The Rites have also been cleaned up, with some images, and also with some new additions. Celahir has been hard at work re-coding the submit scores page and the results page, for our newest additions to playable platforms. Gratuitous Space Battles, Call of Duty, Gears of War, Battlefield 3, Soul Calibur 4, and Team Fortress 2, are acceptable platforms for the Dark Jedi Brotherhood. Until the code is properly in place, and you guys wish to play these games, submit the matches as Console matches under gaming nights. For those of you interested, we do have clans on Call of Duty Elite and Battlefield's Battlelog. Major shout out to Eiko for going over the whole Rites of Combat and making everything grammatically correct. Enjoy that Dark Cross buddy.

Now I mentioned the GMRG's Gorefest last month which takes place the last weekend of every month. Since Christmas is the last weekend of the month, I'm bumping the dates up, so Gorefest will be on 17th and 18th. But also this month there is going to be another GMRG only competition called "The Juggernaut." The Juggernaut is the Fist of the Brotherhood's bodyguard, which means you get to be in official DB Canon fictions. The downside is this competition happens every 4 to 6 months so that others can become the Juggernaut. This competition starts on Sunday December 4th, and ends two weeks later. The person with the most amount of matches played will become the Juggernaut until the next competition is ran.

Now onto the second part of my report. ToR!!!!111!!!!!!!1111one!!

Yours truly and some others have been having the chance to play the Beta for either a weekend, or longer. Since the NDA has finally lifted off of us, and we can all freely talk about everything that we enjoyed in the Beta, I've been utilizing the ToR Foums that Orv had created for us a few months ago, which can be found here: Click me! Or by clicking the guild forum above this next to the two guilds, or under the ToR Forum under the communication tab.

A few things that I have posted, are reviews about the game itself, and people who want to post screenshots from the game... Even the a scandalous pose of Kelvis is on there.

Speaking of Kelvis, he impressed myself and a few other members this past weekend, with his knowledge and his willingness to help, as well as his hilarious sense of humor. For this we have decided to make him a Community Helper, in and out of game.

The final stages of the guild system will be finishing this weekend, so hopefully next week we will know where exactly the guild will be placed, and if the EH and the RS are on the same server as well.

For those that also played the beta this past weekend: You do not have to uninstall the client. Its going to be the same client for Early Access and launch.

With his help with getting our plans together for ToR, and being pretty much at my side during every decision I've made for gaming, I've decided to promote Araxis to the rank of Obelisk Prelate. Congrats to you dude.
