Quaestor Report

Jusadih System Morroth - Great Tundra Temple of Plagueis - Practice Chamber 35 ABY

_ The winds howled around the closed entrance to the Temple of Plagueis, seeking entry and then unleashing the sound of anger at being denied. The Ancient Sith had done their job well, and to this day, their construction stood the test of time and the elements, leaving a perfect structure which suffered no drafts. Deep within, the cold of Morroth permeated each level and layer of the Temple, proving to present a challenge to those within. While not as cold or as killer as upon the surface, the unwary could easily lose a limb to frostbite if they were unwary…

Fistandantilusi moved swiftly as he struck the practice dummy with the training saber that all Novices carried with great hope. The intense effort and painstaking learning that had occurred during his time as an Apprentice were showing shuura. Long hours under the eye of Taskmaster Vorrac had not left him without scars though. No one under Vorrac left without at least one kiss from the whip, if they left at all.

Quaestor Tra’an Reith and Taskmaster Vorrac stood in the shadows, eyeing the zealous new recruit, their discussion quiet enough that it would not be heard more than a meter away without the aid of the Force. This was on purpose, as not more than two meters away stood Furios, the Primus Pilus Flight Leader. “He’s impressive for a Novice, I’ll give you that. However, it remains that he’s just a Novice.” Kal nodded his head, following along, his eyes critiquing the Novice’s form even as his ears paid strict attention to his leader’s words.. The Quaestor continued, “Even if he’s almost ready for the Sparring Circle, I won’t give him due notice until he’s ready to be a student. If I do, it causes problems.”

A loud crunch followed by several softer sounds interrupted their discussion as the nearby Furios bit into his shuura. Loud in the quiet space, even with the repeated whacks of the training saber into the dummy, it served only to bring annoyance and consternation into the face of the Shi’ido. “I hope, Last Son, that you have something in the works to take his edge and refine it, for it seems he has lost it without Imichua around.” Kal smiled then, a thin line that seemed to promise malice and scheming.

With two claps of his hand, the door to the locker rooms opened and Koga Kage emerged. Walking smartly, the imperially minded Templar snapped to a salute before realizing who was there besides Kal. Immediately upon recognizing the Quaestor, he dropped to one knee and bowed over it, “My Quaestor! You honor me? Why have I been summoned to receive your attentions?” Furios snorted softly, not happy with the display the Templar was putting on.

“Rise Koga Kage, loyal son of Plagueis, and relax. You are here because I have decided that your efforts should not go unnoticed, and that you might have an opportunity to prove yourself yet again.” Koga rose to his feet smoothly, having long practiced the motion. His legs automatically spread to shoulder width, hands locking wrists behind his back. The motion was so perfect it garnered yet another snicker from the Knight as he leaned against the wall, almost half way through his shuura.

“As you have excelled, here is your next challenge. I am promoting you to Flight Leader Minor of Primus Pilus. Should you prove to be more capable than the current Flight Leader Superior, in due course as judged by Battleteam Leader Vorrac, then you will replace him. Now is your time to Ascend, do it justice.” The benevolent grin Tra’an had on his face could almost seem to be an evil smirk in the flickering light of the training room. The shadows played with the curves and lines, twisting them into any number of designs, all of which seemed to bring about an element of the sinister.”

The sound of the shuura dropping to the floor was the only warning that preceeded the shout, “You must be joking!” It seemed only after the words left his mouth that Furios realized his mistake. He had just told his Quaestor and Battleteam Leader to their backs that they were wrong. Back pedaling a step, then another, the slowly ashen shade coming to his face belied what was happening in his head.

With a practiced ease, Tra’an whispered to the Force and had it aid him in retrieving the shuura without moving, and in sending it flying into the forehead of the offending Dark Knight. The creamy treat smashed into him and covered his face in the white goo. “Remember your place Knight. You have been lacking as of late. Consider this due warning. Perform at your best, and Koga will be hard pressed to catch you. Slack off though …,” the threat went unfinished. It didn’t have to be.

The Sith Battlelord shook his head with a grimace. “My Liege, with your permission I’ll send them to the Omega Base where your apprentice awaits with the Chaser. They have a mission to be off on.” With a wave of his hand, Tra’an gave permission and the two opposing Flight Leaders made haste for the exit. Stoic Koga and Livid Furios, they made quite the pair. It would be interesting to see who was the stronger, more capable among them. Either way, Plagueis would benefit.

As Tra’an nodded at the Taskmaster, their business complete at last, he headed for the door. As he crossed the threshold, he could hear Kal, “Get back to work Novice! You’ve got lots more work to do to get to the Sparring Circle!” The crack of the whip and the cry of agony made him smile, even as the hum of a moving lightsaber and the impact upon the dummy made him think. This one had promise, if Kal didn’t kill him as he had the last few.

Dacien was waiting outside, having come while Tra’an was inside. As they walked towards the hangar, Tra’an had a simple question to ask, “I need you to accept an assignment for me, without knowing when it’s going to end. It’s hard work, but you will be well rewarded. What say you?” Dacien’s answer was lost in the rush of wind when the temple doors opened._

Welcome to the Plagueis Quaestor Report!

It’s been sometime since my last one, and I’m sorry for that. However, we are now returned to our regularly scheduled Plagueian Reports!

We’ve had a host of friends return from far away! Plagueis welcomes back Braecen Kaeth, Onteron, Starett, Dacien, Nightfang, Eivil Grimstroke, Gaius, and Silent!

Even as welcome them home, we bid goodbye to VanWyck who has decided that his time in the darkness is over, as he embraces a new way of life among those in Odan Urr. We wish him luck.

Competitons:

This is one of those critical report sections that some love, some hate, and others skip entirely! In the last few months since the end of the Great Jedi War, Koga Kage and Kal have been pushing out multiple competitions, which have received a disappointing turnout. A new set of competitions from Furios and Kal are expected shortly, and I have at least two that will be joining them. As always, if you want something, you have but to email the summit and ask for it!

Where is Plaguies Going?

I’m so glad you asked! Kal, Sarak, and I have been hard at work defining the future of Plagueis and where we are going. As many of you have seen in recent months, Kal has been stratifying the competitions to those Knight and above, and those Jedi Hunter and below. All of these competitions have been focusing on elements of the danger that is reawakening across Jusadih and threatens the system as a whole.

I ask you to participate in them as they come out, because they will shape the future of Plagueis, and offer you a possibility of being recorded in the history books of what makes Plagueis strong.

-=+=-

In closing, Plagueis is strong. We have many members returning to us, even as more find their way to us through the Shroud and follow the call of the Force. We extend our darkest greetings to Fistandantilusi as he continues to forge ahead in his training having already earned Novice, and to Onteron who returns to us with a thirst to learn and be active. They are our future, as are you who are not yet a Knight. Ask for what you need, and you shall receive it.

I’m almost always on IRC, and even if I’m away, leave me a note and I’ll get back to you. I’ve got an email turn-around of about eight hours at the moment, and will gladly get back to you that way.
