Aedile Report

Hello, everyone, and welcome to another Aedile report from yours truly. We have a huge amount of ground to cover, so brace yourselves, because this is gonna be a mouthful.

Dark Crusade: Phase I, Chapter III

Overview

The third and final chapter of Phase I wrapped up on Friday, May 31st, and boy, what a chapter it was. I think we can all agree that this was one of the tougher and more stressful rounds, being up against the likes of Naga Sadow, Taldryan, and Tarentum. We fought for the planet Ch'hodos, and now we are patiently waiting for the events to be graded and the participation counts to be evaluated.

While we do not know placements, Arden and I did pull together data regarding participation. Obviously, with some members transferring out of the unit and with other members being swamped with real life, such as jobs and school, we had significantly fewer members cranking out entries. Considering last chapter, we raked up 88 whopping submissions, we were climbing toward an already highly raised bar. That being said, while we did not reach our previous participation numbers, the amount of enthusiasm and perseverance produced by the membership was astounding, and the summit was thrilled by how much of an effort some of you put into this vendetta.

So here's that boring old data.

Participation

With seventeen members participating in Chapter III of Phase I of the Dark Crusade. Plagueis amassed 67 entries, with five Plaguieans participating in every single event. Of those 67 entries, 19 entries were the result of battle team Karness Muur's efforts, and 37 entries were the result of Ajunta Pall's efforts. Keeping in mind our roster numbers versus our participation numbers, we came in at approximately a 1.58 participation ratio, which is not bad at all, guys. Not bad at all considering the time of year and the number of active members that we have.

Please keep in mind, of course, that with event judgments and potentially different participation calculating tools, the participation numbers from the Dark Council may come out a little differently than what Arden and I have accumulated. However, this is an initial summation of participation, using a spreadsheet similar to that of the Dark Council's. It may not be guaranteed to be one hundred percent correct, but it does offer some solid information regarding our vendetta efforts.

Accolades

Because of their dedication to the Dark Crusade, I would like to recognize some of our membership.

First of all, the summit. Our Quaestor, Tra'an Reith; our Rollmaster de facto, Arden Karn; and our Ajunta Pall BTL Alaris Jinn all participated in six out of six events. I myself participated in only five, so I didn't get the perfect score, but these guys did. Let's give our summit a hand.

I would also like to applaud our members Solus Gar and Silent for doing the exact same thing - participating in six out of six events. You guys make us proud.

Special recognition goes out to Brimstone for submitting to five events on his phone, as well as Celevon Edraven and Furios Morega for participating in five out of six events. Nice work, you guys!

And I would personally like to thank every single other Plagueian who participated, kept in touch with the summit, and pushed Plagueis forward in an attempt to replicate the success we had in the previous Dark Crusade chapters. You are all the reason why I love being your Aedile.

Keep in mind that Arden and I will be making plans to reward specific members for their Dark Crusade efforts, so stay tuned for that. We want to make sure everyone is rewarded in a timely manner, but we also need to discuss it and possibly receive feedback from higher-ups, and knowing placements will be a plus, too. Don't worry; we've got this covered.

All right, enough vendetta stuff. Now we gotta get super serial.

Changing of the Guard

Tra'an Reith Resigns As Quaestor

That's right, folks. In his final report released on June 1st, our very own Tra'an vacated the position of Quaestor/Dread Lord of House Plagueis. His real life and his job have been overwhelming him (mostly in a good way), and he can no longer promise the same commitment to the unit as he had given in years past.

I personally would like to thank Tra'an for his two years of Quaestorship in Plagueis, and to show my appreciation, I will share the message I sent him a while back with everyone:

_Tra'an,

Thank you for everything you did for Plagueis these past two years. Whether watching from afar or serving as your second, I can plainly see how much passion, heart, and courage you put into the unit.

I know you wish you could have done more, and yes, some things happened that weren't all that great. That's what comes with being a leader. You'll have some good times. You'll have a lot of bad times. You'll get some supporters, and you'll get some naysayers. You'll have the same people who once praised you later question you and your ability to lead. You, however, always knew your limits, and always knew what you could do versus what you couldn't. What you could do was fantastic, and your ability to acknowledge your setbacks was refreshing. Your honesty and your dedication are admirable, and it means you are a mature, determined man who showed everyone what it means to be a leader.

I promise you that I, and others, will take good care of the house. There's a rocky road again, but we can walk on it. Best of luck in everything in your life. We'll keep in touch.

Cheers, Ronovi_

Plagueians, please take the time and energy to thank Tra'an for his hard work and dedication to the unit. He's left some very big shoes behind to fill.

Alaris Jinn Leaves Plagueis

Yes, we have also lost another important individual, our very own sole di Plagia. Alaris Jinn, former BTL of Ajunta Pall, has been with Plagueis for a very long time. He has served as its Consul while it was still a clan and has been an amazing part of the recovery efforts to make Plagueis stronger as a unit. Due to personal reasons and a desire to try out other pastures, Alaris has transferred to House Taldryan.

Please bear in mind that a member's decision to leave our ranks for another unit is not something we should feel angry or guilty about. An important part of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood is an individual's strive to be happy and successful within the club, and sometimes, that means trying something new or going somewhere else. Plagueis has been the only unit that Alaris has known for years, and while he won't be one of our members, he will still be around to chat with us and be a great friend to me, the summit, and you guys. Who knows? Perhaps we'll be jointly working alongside him should he get back into a leadership position in his new house.

Please be sure to thank Alaris for his dedication to Plagueis throughout the years. I wish him nothing but the best in his new endeavors.

So What Happens Now?

A lot of things, actually. For one, we will need a new Quaestor. Grand Master Muz Ashen has recently opened applications for Quaestor to the Brotherhood at large, and he is expecting a concrete, complex application with solid plans for the future (such as a 30-60-90 day plan). Obviously, people within the house will be given priority, but bear in mind that Muz and Raken have high standards for leaders. If you're interested in applying, I highly encourage it - applications are due by June 13th.

Once a new Quaestor has been chosen, we will be looking at tweaking the structure of our battle teams. Don't worry, their content isn't changing, but their members will be. Alaris's departure means that we will need a new BTL of Ajunta Pall, and depending on whether or not there are inner alterations to the higher summit, we might see more changes to the leadership. There's a lot in limbo right now, so the best we can do is take a deep breath and endure the transitions. Again, we'll keep you posted if anything opens up to the general membership.

In the meantime, we have an entire month of R&R within the house. Please take advantage of it. Put up your feet, do some gaming and writing, and see how much you can improve your craft for the next phase of the Dark Crusade (which will heavily focus on placement). I will be sending out more updates as the month progresses, including steps we need to take to prepare for a crazier, and tougher, phase of the vendetta.

Conclusion

June is here, and that means summer is approaching quickly. Kick back and enjoy. This is Ronovi, signing off.
