Introduction

Welcome to another edition of the Plagueis Aedile Report. I know it feels somewhat unusual that the last three monthly Aedile reports have been filed by three different people. I sincerely hope that won’t become a habit and that we can stabilize the leadership of Plagueis so that we can continue our ascendance. Ronovi and I have developed a strong working relationship over the past few months and I am fairly sure that will serve us well. I have full confidence in the summit we’ve assembled and now all we can do is work towards greatness.

Dark Crusade

So, Phase 2, Round 1 of the Dark Crusade ended the same way the last three phases ended, with a well-earned Plagueian victory. I’m impressed by both the work of our special forces team, that defeated Naga Sadow 105 to 60, and our general forces that helped us to an overall ratio of 1.4 which gives us 560 points to spend on our fleet. What do those fleet points mean in the end? Well, we get more cool stuff to play with. Specifically, that number of points could get us...well lots of cool stuff. Oh, and the special forces team managed to score more points than the Sadowans in 5 of the 6 events, losing only in Graphics. That is no small accomplishment given the number of talented writers and artists Naga Sadow has. Great work guys, and keep it up. We’re going to need it.

The next round of the Crusade looks to be our toughest and most important yet. On the 18th of August ,a holiday for table top gamers like me as it’s the last day of GenCon, we will be headed to the planet Kalsunor and will be met there by the forces of House Tarentum and Clan Arcona. That’s right ladies and gentlemen, the much anticipated grudge match with Arcona is finally here. This is what competition is all about. This is Giants vs. Cowboys, Yankees vs. Red Sox, Real Madrid vs. Barcelona, or Jennings vs. Watson if you prefer the intellectual pursuits. Arcona is the long time defending champion and we’re the plucky upstarts. However in this case we have Arcona in a spot they haven’t been in for a long while, behind us.

With our four wins to Arcona’s three and Taldryan’s two , we currently have the lead in the Dark Crusade. With two rounds to go after this one, the math becomes rather simple. If we defeat Arcona this round, we will be assured of nothing worse than a first place tie. I don’t think I need to tell you how much of an accomplishment even that would be. However, it should also be quite obvious that this also means we’re going to be in for one heck of a fight. I expect the Arconans to fight hard to regain their supremacy. Therefore, I expect Plagueis to fight twice as hard to keep our lead. We need to prove to all who might oppose us that we can defeat all who oppose us and make them regret challenging us in the first place.

So Plagueis, let's get ready because this time it’s going to be on like Donkey Kong!

House Fiction and Feedback

I'm lumping these two categories together because, well, they have a lot to do with each other. One of my stated goals when I became Aedile was to help expand the "New Plagueis" fiction to encompass the entire house rather than the few select folks that have been driving it. The first step in the process is to make sure the unit at large is familiar with our current fictional position. To further that end, I created a trivia competition that focuses exclusively on Plagueis fictional elements and the changes we made after Horizons. Go check it out HERE. That's only the first step though and I got a few other things in store to help get folks in the flow of things.

In the near future I'm going to be putting together a survey that will elicit your opinions how you'd like to be integrated into our fiction. We have a couple ideas to bounce off you all and we are going to be excited hear your thoughts. Also to be included in this survey are a couple of feedback items that Ron and I are curious about. They center around our and the summit's communication with the general membership as well as what sort of competitions folks might be interested in between Crusade rounds. If you want to provide Crusade specific feedback, Yacks had put together a survey about that and it appears in the last Taldryan Aedile report.

New Folk

Before I wrap up, I wanted to welcome the newest Plagueian to the Ascendant house. Ixazi Nadiezja has been working hard and has already made it to the rank of Acolyte. Good work Ixazi. From what I'm told Ixazi is a rather prolific writer and should make a great addition to our stable of fictioneers.
