Fist of the Brotherhood Report #3

Clusters of Fire Table Leveling

The main event for this report! Over the last few weeks the Fist Office has been going over the CF Tables with the assistance of the MAA Office and we've finally all (mostly) come to an agreement on what they should look like. Special thanks to Howie and Arch for putting up with me throughout this project. So on with the show...

The biggest change is that we have removed separate tables for Star Wars and Non-Star Wars Game Platforms, the separate tables really only added clutter to the system without adding much value. You'll also notice a few minor changes to the First Person Shooter, Free For All, and Real Time Simulation Tables. In general these changes impacted the individuals who were on the losing end of the matches, and were an increase in CFs. Why did we implement these? Its part of the grand scheme for the CF requests to be handled and calculated by the site. James crafted up a slick coder table and we had to make a few small tweaks for it to match our CF tables. Bonus in that part of the change is that we now have a Real Time Simulation - Free For All Table! In addition, Free For All Matches now award people through 7th place (during a 10 person FFA).

TOR has had some of its Operation CF rewards decreased. This was a decision made to bring the CF Table in line with the TOR Expansion, new Level Cap of 55, and higher quality of gear that comes with it. Flashpoint, Dueling, Warzone, and World Boss rewards will remain the same. There is also now a defined CF amount to be awarded for partially completed Operations.

Diablo 3 has also seen CF rewards decreased, specifically in the Inferno Difficulty. Similar to the TOR reasoning, this is due to the increased availability of high quality gear in the game.

We had alot of discussion around the purpose of the Cluster of Fire and Pendants of Blood and how they are awarded in Player vs Computer games versus Player vs Player matches. I'm not going to claim as a group we all agreed on it, but we had alot of good discussion about the topic. This is the current stance that I'm taking as the Fist with regards to these rewards:

Clusters of Fire: These are awarded for gaming activity. During this project we based awards on time and difficulty of content (for PvE).

Pendant of Blood: These are awarded for excellence in gaming. For Player vs Player that means hitting the criteria listed on the Wiki Page for that award. For Player vs Computer this will be defined based on the platform. That currently includes Max Level Characters in TOR and Diablo 3, as well as Guild First Operation completions and all successful completions of the end game Operation for TOR (currently Nightmare Mode Scum and Villainy).

Changes to the CF Tables will be updated on the Wiki and in effect tomorrow (Monday). Here's a link to a Google Doc which was the basis for our new Tables. I'll be awarding all Gaming Matches submitted before midnight on the current CF Tables.

Crusade Gaming

Have you downloaded Alien Swarm yet for the next round of the Crusade?

JA/JO Servers

If you have a specific competition you'd like to run which requires some modification to Server Settings email me about it and I'll let you know what I can do to support it. Any other requests for changes on the servers, please send me an email.

On that note, Bryar Pistols are now available on the JO server, back due to popular demand.

GMRG

If you are at Rank VII or above and would like to be assigned a Dark Councilor to Guard please shoot me an email and I'll update the wiki to make this happen. Like I mentioned in my previous report, once September rolls around the requirement is Rank VIII or above to request someone to Guard!

Since the Crusade will be resuming next weekend we're going to take a pass on Gorefest for August. The next round of Gorefest will resume on 13Sep-15Sep2013.

TOR Guild

Patch 2.3 for TOR came out this week. With it came a Tauntaun Mount, new Level 55 Daily Quests, two new Level 55 Flashpoints with Normal and Hard Modes, and an Ewok Companion (seriously?). Also, starting next week (14 August)there will be a Bounty Contract Week each month in TOR. Basically this is another faction that you can raise your reputation with, similar to the Gree. What is the best part of this? You can finally get a Blaster Pistol which looks like a Carbine and a Cowboy Hat on Empire Characters once you hit Friendly with the Bounty Broker Association!

Gear Grab Nights have continued for the Empire TOR Guild (Thursdays at 8pm EST). This past week we cleared Nightmare Mode Eternity Vault well within 2 hours to earn everyone attending their "the Infernal" title!

The Next Project

Over the next month the Fist Staff will be taking a closer look at the Rites of Combat, initially I had hoped for this to complete prior to the August Crusade. A few things you can expect when this project completes... the ROC will be set up to not only be rules for gaming, but also to help new members quickly determine what games are normally played on a regular basis by the Club. Retired Platforms will function differently than they currently do. Hopefully a significant reduction in the length of the ROC, while still maintaining the necessary rules to keep good order and discipline amongst the gamers of the club.

Any chance of games built for cellphones so folks can get cfs too and help their guilds in gaming too

Cowboy Hat WHAT?! The answer to my Bounty Hunter dreams...

hooray! RTS are people! :D

Brim, your suggestion actually has given me an idea... Stay tuned. Mobile games may not become full time platforms like JA or TOR, but I think there's something we can do with them...

Val/Anyone are you aware of any nice guides to gaining that Bounty Broker Association rep quickly? ;)

The site I linked has the best guides for TOR I've found (Dulfy.net - no fancy markdown from my phone btw). Your best bet will be to run the daily missions with multiple characters though. Since you can only run 1 mission per day it's going to be key not to miss any days during the one week of the month these events run

On a side note, Firefly Online is a mobile game. Also, what're the odds of Worms Revolution making a guest spot?

As a Firefly fan Ill be watching that games development. Looks like early 2014 release currently, so it's too early to make any promises.

As far as mobile guest spots. The key thing I plan to look at is if its Free to Play. On occasion a game that costs something may come up, but the majority will likely be free downloads (or the free Lite version of a game)

Great report. Also reminder for the TOR players: I'm running a raid every Monday which is focusing more on gearing alts, or whatever everyone is interested in. Just something fun to do before the server reset Tuesday mornings.

Tap Tap Revolution, obviously.

Great report Val.
