Odan-Urr Aedile Report #5

YCHT Arthos

Sith Space

Liam Torun entered the cramped interior of what had once been the luxurious lounge of the YCHT Arthos. Where a massive centerpiece carved from the resilient bark of the wroshyr tree and adorned with its leaves once sat, the interior of the once spacious interior was now a veritable center of operations. Snaking along the floor rested a patchwork of wires and cables, connected to the various panels, consoles and holoprojectors clumped in an inwards-facing ring at the center of the room. Countless intelligence officers of the Kotahitanga-Unity Defense Force’s Jedi Corps, handpicked by former information trader Captain Allan worked busily at each of their assigned workstations. Situated on a far larger console, the Kotahitanga-Unity Defense Force’s sole Human Replica Droid relayed orders at blinding speed, limited only by the speed of his processing power cointained within his droid brain.

“Situation contained. Standby for further orders… Jedi Commander Raiju Kang, have your troops prepared for battle.” The droid commanded, switching fervently between both outgooing and incoming channels, sometimes relaying up to ten orders at once across multiple channels. As intelligence officers darted their eyes across statistical readouts, trading information and tracking Brotherhood movements, the High Councillor was able to infiltrate the circle unnoticed. Smiling to himself, he tapped one individual on the shoulder as the man placed his headset off to the side in a hurry to address the most recent Councillor.

“Liam Torun. How are you, my friend? I would invite you to share a drink, but unfortunately, the bar had to be removed to accommodate for the hardware.” The Nagai jested. Signalling for Commander Deo Sol to take over his console, Drodik Va’lence al’Tor moved towards the center of the cramped space. Unfazed by the Nagai’s boisterous behaviour, the High Councillor spoke in hushed whispers, although he knew that the conversation was likely to be overheard by those species with heightened hearing abilities in the room. “How are our operations advancing? Is the militia ready for another conflict?” He asked. All that he heard in reply was the Nagai’s coarse laughter, it had almost seemed vulgar, given the serioussness of the question. Waving his hand with an exaggerated flourish, the Nagai summoned up several rings of technical readouts, updated tactics, fleet formations, and current whereabouts of all militia personnel repeating from the center of the circle that made up the converted space. Careful not to trip over any of the coiled wires beneath his feet, Drodik made his way in a ring around each readout.

“As you can see, our forces have changed their tactics considerably. We have been studying the Brotherhood, noting their own tactics and comparing them against ours. The Human Replica Droid has developed a program that allows us to adopt new strategies, built against the Brotherhood’s vital flaws for maximum effect. Although, without field testing, we can’t say how these new strategies will hold up. We have already begun pairing all of the Knights of Odan-Urr with designated squadrons, all of them highly qualified. Jedi Commanders Raiju and Kaayn are currently in charge of final assessment. They are preparing the militia as we speak. I had originally placed Councillor Morotheri as the head of the ground operations, but with his departure to the Outer Rim, that task now falls to you and General Tur’el.” The Nagai continued for several hours, explaining the various readouts with a few assessments given by the Human Replica Droid, seated next to them as he commanded the Kotahitanga-Unity Defense Force.

Cutting Drodik off mid-sentence, the Human Replica Droid buzzed a message labelled as urgent across the Arthos’ systems. Scambling to the console for a closer look, Liam Torun read the message as it scrolled across the screen, “Master A’lora Kituri al’Tor has arrived aboard the Arthos from Yavin Four. Liam Torun, Drodik Va’lence al’Tor, please report to the conference room immediately.” Giving the High Councillor a brief moment to pick his jaw up from the floor, Drodik allowed himself the pleasure of a small chuckle, “It seems our newest asset has finally arrived.”

Hospitable Planet

[Location Redacted]

“Master Kaira, the Gioki have returned from their hunt. Our people are starving and most are sick, but we will survive until New Tython is retaken.” A Tythonian assistant announced, stepping into the tent without notice. However, the Jedi had already sensed his presence as she towered over a prone figure lying in a nearby cot, injured during a near-fatal hunting accident the night before. All around her, the weary groans and coughs of those seeking immediate medical attention filled the void of the temporary structure. Administering a salve of crushed herbs and water to an injured Harakoan’s wounded abdomen, she didn’t turn around to greet her visitor. The wounded figure could barely move without feeling a surge of pain though all of his nerves. Wincing as she applied the salve, the gaping hole in his chest continued to bleed a steady stream of crimson. Easing his pain through the Force, she reached into the wound as the Harakoan let out a piercing scream of pain. Removing her fingers from the gaping wound, she set the thick piece of metal aside on a nearby tray with an audible ‘clang.’

Medical supplies were nearly depleted in the temporary settlement, they could only take what they could carry during the evacuation. The population had used up most of what they had brought before being brought to this planet. Bandages, synthflesh, anesthetic, none of these were available as she utilized a variety of local herbs combined with the healing properties of the Force to heal the sick and injured. The Harakoan turned a pale shade of blue as he looked up at the intruder, wincing from the pain of craning his neck. Frustrated with the man’s untimely arrival, Kaira turned around with a fire raging in her eyes. Before she could open he mouth to speak, a shaking hand gripped her arm, drawing her closer as he brough her ear to his mouth.

“Find… My family. New Tython… Save the Tribe.” He barely managed before drawing his final breath. It seemed like minutes as he passed, laying his head back down in its most comfortable position, seeming completely at peace. When his body finally lay still, devoid of the rising and falling of his chest just before he took his final breath, tears welled up in Kaira’s eyes, though she didn’t feel the need to call upon the Force to contain her emotions. Taking a few moments to compose herself, the remnants of teardrops along her cheeks, she turned to the assistant.

“Find the healers, get them over here. We need all the help we can get.” She managed to say, weakly. Soon, the Jedi would be called upon again to the battlefield. Once they were finished, she could only hope that there were enough of them left to retake New Tython.

Introduction

As you probably already noticed, the Crusades is back, once again. We are currently approaching Phase II, Chapter II, which is slated to arrive by the 15th of August. We will be defending the planet of Jaguada, so get your boots polished, armor shined, and blasters set to kill (I mean… stun.) There is a great canonical backstory for the planet (Which can be found on Wookiepedia,) and I’m betting the Dark Council has their own details to provide a unique twist that will surely catch the interest of a Light-Sided faction of Jedi Knights. The Special Forces has been reshuffled, and will be comprised of A’lora (Formerly, Morotheri,) Liam, Tur’el, Raiju, Revak, Rangel, Kaayn and Kaira. We might not be having another Chapter for a while afterwards (I’ll let you know if I get clarification,) so let’s make this one count. We’re counting on you guys, and remember that there are rewards to be had here including Nova, Ribbons, Fleet Points, and a possible spot on the Special Forces. Do what you can to the best of your abilities, and let’s conquer (Or rather, ‘liberate’) ourselves a planet.

AWOL checks have also been completed. If have have been transferred to the Rogues and wish to return to House Odan-Urr, simply request a transfer and we’ll get you back in.

Fictionally within House Odan-Urr, we are currently out battling against both the One Sith and the Dark Brotherhood, fighting against each with guerilla tactics as we sabotage their advances. New Tython is currently under control by Cy Thuron’s mercenary force, and we will work on updating House Odan-Urr’s fiction in the near future. In addition, Morotheri Mithfaron has been sent on a long mission to the furthest regions of the Outer Rim. In his stead, A’lora Kituri al’Tor will now be serving as Aedile of House Odan-Urr. Our militia have evolved their tactics, and are now ready to tackle the Sith, hitting them hard and fast where it hurts most. Although, our militia do require their leaders. Submit to as many events as possible and lead our forces to victory (Should I make that into a wartime poster advertisement? We shall see.)

Current Projects

Regarding current projects, make sure you read up on the many Dark Council reports that are sent out by the Combat Master and Seneshal. Currently, they are both working on the new site itself, as well as Character Sheets. Also, the Brotherhood’s fleet is undergoing an overhaul to make it more in-line with the current Star Wars canon. The Shadow Academy has also overhauled many of their exams and added new ones to the database, so make sure you check those out. Adding to this, the Headmaster does have a few tasks available to those looking for promotions, preferably for those in the Journeyman ranks. If you are interested in helping the Shadow Academy include the Jedi Path into its courses, contact either myself, Kal, Tur’el, or Solari directly (CC’ing either of us in emails doesn’t hurt, either.)

Within the house, the Jedi Vocational Corps will be looked into for updating in the near future. If you plan to help out with Prompt creation, please visit our wordpress site and fill out the form. This particular project allows you to create missions that will be given to members who request to be sent on them to the furthest regions of the galaxy. As Jedi Knights, it is our commitment to help wherever the need arises. In addition, our Wiki pages are in need of updating, most notably the Orders. With the inclusion of the Jedi Orders into the site’s coding, the various Orders (Sentinel, Consular and Guardian) will need their Wiki pages edited to more closely follow the format of the Sith Orders. The Wiki page entitled ‘Light Side Philosophies’ will later be renamed to the ‘Jedi Path’ in order to provide an overview of the Jedi ideals and history within the Brotherhood. If you are interested in any of these projects, contact me.

Off the topic of projects, the site should be back up now, if you haven’t already noticed. So, feel free to submit to any of those fancy, new Shadow Academy Exams whenever you feel the need to earn some thunder from our Headmaster (And your House Summit, no doubt.)

Contributors

No great deed is too small. And in this case, the deeds are great, indeed. I would like to give a massive shout-out to all those who have put forth effort into succeeding to fill up my inbox with Shadow Academy Course emails. Thus, I would like to give a collective thank you to Raiju Kang, Kaayn Salis, Valkish, Rangel and Krandon. This group of badasses is the reason why we will kick ass and take names in the Crusades (Bubblegum is optional.)

Conclusion

Short and sweet. No TL;DR’s here, I apologize. Let’s kick some Sith @$$.
