Welcome to my 12th report as your Voice (Read the GM's Report Below). I hope everyone has enjoyed their long break from the Dark Crusade and are ready to go for the final round. A lot of intrigue has occurred over the past 60 days and the top three organizations all have a chance to win. It will be interesting to see how things turn out and even more interesting to write the story explaining how things have unfolded. The DB's overall plot will culminate with a conclusion of the Dark Crusade and lead us towards next summer's Great Jedi War (tentatively Titled: Elmo Invades). We might even see that tricky and secretive Star Chamber make a few appearances.

The ACC

The ACC is conducting Beta Testing right now. We have a few matches underway and are dealing with the normal questions that come along with system changes. The good news is that a lot of work has been accomplished to help the final launch go as smoothly as possible. At present we have:

• ACC 101 Userguide
  
• Force Powers Quick Reference Guide
  
• A New Grading Rubric that will be published for all to see
  

And we are knocking out a Shadow Academy Course that will get everyone acquainted with the new ins and outs of the ACC. Mav should have updated news and many more details in the near future.

Fiction and the Promotion Requirements

1. OT Vynn Salm recently pointed out that the Journeymen promotion requirements had a page length requirement that did not provide details (double space, single space, font size, ect). We have updated these requirements to use the standard word count in order to avoid any confusion.

2. Vynn's comments led the Voice staff to review all of the Journeymen promotion requirements and we noticed that fiction was missing from several ranks. Montressor and I submitted several ideas to Kalen and Howie and we hope to see the new additions soon! Fiction has become the DB's go to format and it is only common sense for us to have it included in the promotion requirements. I'll throw up an announcement when Howie and Kalen finish their tweaking.

Fiction Competition: The Heist

The Heist has two more days until it concludes. This is a great chance for all of our members to participate in a competition (for those promotion requirements)! It is also another chance to practice your fiction in the event you became a little rusty over the recent DC break. Right now the entries are limited, so you have a decent chance for a little extra swag. Competition Details Below!

"....Thirty two hours ago you stumbled across a coded message on the Shadow Academy’s network. The message was intended for the Headmaster and detailed the location of an emergency storage vault once used by Grand Admiral Zaarin on the planet Etti IV in the Corporate Sector."

The Voice's Word (:p)

This week saw two junior members suggest changes to the DJB that will have an impact on the entire organization. The first change I mentioned above was in part to Vynn Salm looking apprentices. Vynn's quick suggestion will ensure fiction requirements are clear for all of our journeymen and it led the Voice staff to realizing how light fiction was in the overall requirements. When we talk about member's making DB impacting changes, this is the sort of thing.

The second major change came in terms of the new XP bar added to your administration panel. This XP bar shows you your monthly CFs for earning new ranks for the GMRG (hopefully we see something similar for the ACC in the future). The Fist will highlight this kickass member in a later report, but once again it is an example of someone saying "hey, that would be cool for everyone."

So.....we can all make these impacts, regardless of rank. Good ideas have nothing to do with being a pretend Dark Side Elder :p

Conclusion

Report 12 is in the books. Planetary Write Ups, Fiction Lead in, ACC evaluation, Military Rewrites, Okemi/Tiamat/Ferran rewrites, future systems group work, and GJW ideas are on the plate for my upcoming weeks. We should see some pretty cool stuff coming soon.
