Boba Fett Film

bobafettwhere

So, the buzz right now is that not only is Boba Fett going to be getting his own standalone film, but that it's going to get a script treatment by ESB's Lawrence Kasdan.

Not really a surprise here, as doing a solo Solo move (see what i did there?) would require recasting the part, and frankly, we're all tired of seeing LaBeouf in that sort of thing.

Boba, on the other hand, could be behind a mask the majority of the time, saving some money on special effects shots....and the kid who played young boba, Daniel Logan, is actually about the right age these days...and was on record saying that he'd love to do it.

Personally, as much as the Mandolorian fanboys and Expanded Universe put me off on the whole thing (Whaddya mean, 'he escaped the sarlacc'?!?), it would be kinda interesting to see the universe from a non force sensitive's eyes, see how the 'other half' lives.

So, what do you guys think? Would you plop down the cash to watch a feature film, standalone on Boba the Fett? I hear his backpack's got jets...

I think if they went for a grittier view of the SW universe it would be great. I'm not expecting or talking like an R rating, but something thats more morally grey than the light/dark stuff that goes on in the main movies. Plus a movie about a bounty hunter could be really really cool.

There were rumors floating around awhile ago about a film based upon the lives of Jango and Boba Fett from birth to death of both.

Film version of what would have been Star Wars:1313. Then they'll have both the old SW crowd on the new gaming crowd.

People watched Dredd and Karl Urban never removed the helmet. That, I felt, didn't detract from the film at all. Also, while there's no secret that I'm not a fan of Mandalorians, I think if it's more bounty hunter and less Mando, that'd be pretty sweet to check out.

Also, they'd get Joseph Gordon Levitt, not LaBoeuf (or whatever the hell it is)

If he's gonna finance his 'vette, I'd watch it.

This needs to happen.

Bounty Hunters are beyond Mandalorians- and Bobba represents something else entirely beyond a simple warrior-culture. He is the one who meshes it up with the galaxy's most dangerous living beings- Jedi and Sith. He uses his tools, contacts, and a lifelong hatred against the Jedi to fuel his campaign. There is just something...cool about him that I've always felt drawn to. Maybe it's that. I don't know.

I think it comes down to perspective, like Muz said. Seeing how someone lives in a world of Jedi and Sith- but isn't intimidated to mix it up with them. You know that for Bobba, it's not about the money- it's about the job.

Makes complete sense that they're doing this. The prequels were the trilogy for my generation, the originals for my parents generation, Clone Wars for the millennials; there need to do something to keep people interested. I'm just excited to to see Star Wars without the Lucas writing (prequels = blah...except Attack of the Clones....we ALL know that movie was amazing! :P See wat I did thar?)

I would go and see pretty much anything Star Wars because that is just how I roll; yes I actually do have a VHS copy of the Star Wars Christmas Special

BUT, to do a Boba Fett movie it would HAVE to be like what was planned for the look of 1313 to get it right. I also agree that it would fantastic to see some SW movies and TV from a non-force user perspective. My fear is, and has been, that since the acquisition by Disney that they are going to oversaturate the franchise and eventually end up with a diluted, cartoony version of SW and its EU.

I am excited about the prospects of new material coming. As a fanboy, I've been waiting for this since I was first introduced to SW in 1977 in a theatre in California, but I have heard about and seen too many projects fade away to put too much stock right now.

Nope if its not got Jedi in it,it's not Star wars, If I am going to see a scifi without jedi make another Firefly movie, now that I would pay to see.

After seeing Marvel's Agents of Shield... I'm with Lexi on this.

I agree with Lexi...sorta. Making a Star Wars film without the Jedi (or Sith) is like making a Batman movie without Batman or an Indiana Jones movie without Indie. (I am fans of both of those.)

I'm definitely in for this movie. Although, I would also prefer to see a few Jedi or Sith in it as well. Even if its not one of the main storyline characters a epic fight between Boba and a Force user seems like it is kind of called for given the Star Wars theme.

In the end, I'll be paying to go see it in theaters (and probably buy the Blu-Ray to keep my collection complete) regardless of what they do with the Force Users in it.

Maybe we'll finally see Boba hunt down and actually kill a Jedi </EU in-joke that one either gets or doesn't :P>

I think it's about time we see something other than Force wielding nerds duke it out. I can only watch Vader killing children so many times. And there is no way there won't be Jedi, Boba was contracted to kill some of the Jedi, so....Force freaks can enjoy that. (<3 Goat) um....Vode an!!

I love detective and noir murder mysteries, so I hope a Fett film would be in that line of genre. This sounds great to me!
