Consul Kir Taldrya Katarn of Clan Taldryan had been locked away in his private study for several days now, as Proconsul Sharad Taldrya Hett and the house summit members eagerly waited. Suddenly the door opened and the Consul walked out, flanked by two members of his honor guard. Kir wore a look of defiance mixed with his trademark smirk.

The Consul began to speak, “I have been in contact with representatives from many of the Brotherhood’s Clans in the past days regarding the current situation. After consultation with all of you and private mediation I reached a decision, and just moments ago I cemented our future.”

The faces of Clan Taldryan’s leaders were eager and ambitious; they had sat for days and watched the rest of the Brotherhood become engulfed in combat, not able to join in the fray…that was all about to change.

Kir paused a moment and standing tall made a declaration, “For the duration of the conflict and beyond, Clan Taldryan hereby allies itself with Clan Arcona. All of Arcona’s enemies shall become our own, and the same will be done with enemies of Taldryan. The Clans will share resources and information to ensure our victory over all of the other Clans in the Brotherhood.” The Consul paused to look at his leaders, men who would soon lead Taldryan’s warriors into glorious battle against their enemies. “Gentlemen,” Kir continued, “the Shadow Pact has been born.”
