NEW COMMANDER APPOINTMENT:
The JO Company Commander has been selected and is none other then Zacfer. Zacfer is a hard working ambitious individual with nothing but the best intentions for the GMRG. He will make an excellent addition to the GMRG leadership team.

ALLEGIANCE:
Ben needs all ASGS accounts for allegiance to register our phalanx with FreeAllegiance . So if everyone can get that to him ASAP that'd be awsome!

JO/JA restructuring:
After some discussions with Cannabisia I have decided to drop all GUNS units. So NFGUNS and FFGUNS for JO and JA no longer will be thier own training unit. For one not that many people prefere those settings. Two: in league play NO ONE plays those settings. THREE: we can still hold competitions in which people play those settings if the people in teh DB so wish but there is not a need for those units to exist. Four: Guns skills are important but can be worked on and improved upon in TDM/CTF teams and training units and we're moving towards those anyways. DO NOT take this as me thinking Guns aren't important because especialy in CTF they are. Also for JA once our Team Death Match and Capture the Flag teams are going we are looking into Siege. Siege is very cool. For those of you who do not know what Siege is , each team has objectives to accomplish and defend in different missions/maps and they switch sides after certain amounts of time. Very cool.

NEW GMRG WEBSITE IN PROGRESS:
More to come on this when it becomes applicable but the reason I put this out is it's usualy essential to gaming league teams to have good website and communications with each other.

Yay for eliminating the best JO setting because people are fixated on Sabers! And more CTF would be nice, get that going :P

Well the purpose of getting rid of specific NF Guns and FF Guns settings is because in general the JO and JA communities don't play those. I logged into both platforms at a friends of mine the other day, and I would say close to 99% of all Gaming Servers are NF Sabers / FF Sabers and TDM along with CTF (Also there was some Siege in JA to boot).

The GMRG's place is to play other online gaming organizations. That DOES include the Rebel Squadrons, etc, but it isn't limited to that. Demos wants to branch out and play a number of different groups, and we thought it was in the best interest to drop support of those two settings since noone else really plays it. The other purpose of this decision was that we're looking to move the GMRG toward more Team-Oriented play. Of course there will always be a place for 1v1 matches (Sabs NF/FF are generally 1v1 in gaming leagues), but team-play is the future of Multi-Player Gaming (It's been that way for awhile actually lol).

People can always practice gun skills in Team Deathmatch (Team FFA), CTF, and Siege anyways. It's not like the changes were here to remove all methods of weapons use in the GMRG, they are an integral role to the settings I listed above. There's just no point in supporting FF/NF Guns specifically if it's rarely played by outside groups. Everyone can stll feel free to play NF and FF Guns as members of the GMRG, there just aren't specific circles set aside for those two settings.
