Tournament Results!

Well, I have to say, I'm extremely pleased with this Tournament. We had an excellent turnout, with 86 matches played, if my last count was correct. I believe everyone got to play a decent number of matches, and after school today, I'll be here counting up the results, so that I can announce the point totals. I'll also then be getting in touch with those people with their options, on how they can choose to allocate their points, and what items they can be spent, or saved for.

I'd like to thank everyone who showed up and participated, and I encourage everyone to get out to the Gaming Nights to qualify for the next Tournament, which will be in two weeks. Until then, good luck gaming, have fun, and be ready to earn more. Medals for placings also to be requested after it's all counted. Thanks much!

Taking First Place, with a record of 23-2, congrats to DA Pyralis, as well as seven (7) bonus points for this place.

Taking Second Place right on Pyralis' tail with a record of 21-1, congrats to KAP Dark Sabre, as well as five (5) bonus points for his place.

Taking Third Place with a record of 8-9, congrats to KP Dranik, along with four (4) bonus points for his place.

The following are the points earned by members (in no particular order) for the matches they played:

Yes, I'm kidding. I get no points. :P But, to everyone else, again, my congratulations. Now, what do these go for? Well, I've got the item purchase list up on the Sith Order message boards here: http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/message_board/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2557. Persons earning points can choose to do one of the following: you can a) Choose to keep your points for any or all Tournaments you play in, or you can choose to donate the points you earned in any or all Tournaments.

For example, if I earned 21 points this Tournament, I could keep them, but next week, if I earn points, I can keep those to add to my total, or donate them to the Clan. Donating to the Clan helps pool together points faster, to earn stuff for the whole of the Clan, but is completely at your discretion, and you only donate WHEN YOU WANT TO. The list of items will be added to as I find, create, or am shown items that would be suitable, and if they receive Jac and Mav's approval. This also means you can save your points indefinitely, as they don't expire, you use them when you want.

Anymore questions should be tossed my way, to [Log in to view e-mail addresses].

thanks everyone for the good matches...you made this new guy very welcome!!!!

Would it be possible, for the next tornament, to have a 'specific' place that we can meet (besides being able to accomplish the random 'pick-up' game)? kinda like on the gaming nights and the ICTE.

I'm not a frequent IRC'er so I'm not sure of all the places to go to scrounge up a match.

#gmrg is usually a decent place to get together...I believe some of the other comp days are held in there.

As has been mentioned in lots of previous news postings, gaming nights occuring on Tuesdays and Thursdays occur all day in #GMRG. Furthermore, the ICTE which occurs on Saturday from 4:00pm to 11:00pm EST occurs in #outerrim. Tournaments are part of BF's gaming deal so also occur all day on Sunday in #GMRG.

thanks Halc - I guess I could've just mailed you and asked :)

Er... I don't want to whine, but the news post mentioned I got four points in the tournament... which is a little strange, since I played nine matches (won eight, lost one) and reported them all. I thought that earned more then four points. :P

um... yea. I counted up my matches too and my record was 21-1... not 19-1.
