Effects of the Plagueis merger and Clan changes on Independence Games Clan scoring

After consultation with Jac, the following has been decided for scoring Independence Games submissions by members whose Clan allegiance changed during the Independence Games:

1) Generally, a member counts for the Clan they were a member of on June 7, 12:01 am, marking the halfway point of the Independence Games unless a rule below says differently.

2) A member who was Rogue on June 7, but member of exactly one Clan at other times during the IG does count for the Clan.

3) A member who transferred out of Clan Exar Kun or Clan Satal Keto on June 7, 8 or 9, but before the Plagueis merger will count for the target Clan of this transfer - or no Clan if that transfer was to Rogue.

A member who became a member of Clan Plagueis through the merger and...

4) ... submits to any event as a Plagueis member, will count for Clan Plagueis.

5) ... is still a Plagueis member on the IG closing date, will count for Clan Plagueis.

6) ... transfers out of Plagueis before the IGs' end date without submitting to any events as a Plagueis member will count for the target Clan of that transfer (or no Clan if Rogue) if they

a) either submit to at least one event as a member of the new Clan

b) or transfer to Rogue and explicitly request that their submissions not be counted for any Clan.

In all other situations, such members count for Clan Plagueis.

note: This means Plagueis is Plagueis unless a member actively and clearly indicates that they never wanted to be part of that Clan and follow this declaration up with suitable action as proof. Halfhearted won't count.

In any case, regardless of which rule applies, a member's entire submissions will be counted for one Clan only. There is no splitting of a single member's scores between Clans.

In no case whatsoever will scores be applied to Clan Exar Kun or Clan Satal Keto.

So let me see if I've got this right- as a result of the merger, Plagueis will now have twice the number of submissions since members of both Exar Kun and Satal Keto will be combined, meaning that the total number of submissions from Plagueis has drastically increased, and therefore they now have a much greater chance of winning than any other clan.

Or is that wrong? Feel free to enlighten me.

As a result of the merger, Plagueis will have the CEK and CSK submissions, yes. This means at a maximum TEN extra submissions from before the merger - CSK had a whole of fifteen to start with and five thereof were Selket's who has left the Clan before the merger. So at a maximum, Plagueis will be CEK plus 10 subs,if no other former CSKer transfers out.

It is however impossible to keep the Clans separate after the merger and putting CEK, CSK and Plagueis on the roster would essentially mean disqualifying the Clan as they'd have less than half the time others had.

A lot of people, myself for instance, will probably be doing a whole load of last minute entries though, which may well end up explaining the low turn out. While its fair everything in Plagueis goes to Plagueis as there isn't exactly any other option will you be able to release a set of 'what if' results after the games finish?

Basically so we can see what the results would have looked like from two normal Clans, not the current super sized Clan that exists until the member numbers even out again.

I can do this, but it won't in any way be official. Jac and I weighted the various options back and forth - I wrote almost a two page tractate over the fairest option in terms of effect on these IGs, the IG series in the future and the DB as a whole and not fully liking any of them, this was the fairest and best compromise we could find.

And as to the low turnout being related to people keeping things back for quality improvement: I so hope...
