Note About the Sunday Tournaments

I guess a few people don't know all the rules yet, or more likely are just too new. Anyways, to clarify a bit:

1) You can't participate in the Sunday Tournaments if you haven't qualified. You qualify by having played in a Tuesday or Thursday Gaming Night or an ICTE in the last two weeks.

2) Because you need to qualify, you have to play members that are IN the DB. You may not play outside people from random servers or other SW groups and have them count.

3) The top 3 placings go by most wins, then most losses. If player1 has 33 wins and player2 has 32, player1 will automatically take first. However, if both player1 and 2 have the same wins it then goes to whoever has the most losses (to reward activity rather than penalizie numbe of losses)

to clarify the clarification; that doesn't mean you can't play any games at all on Sunday, you are not banned from that day on the calendar, it just means that the games you play won't count for your DB/Clan "points". SA tests that require games, promotion requirements (unless specified by participating in a DB comp) or just for fun can still be played... correct?

Now, my real question... what if a qualified person plays a non-qualified person during the Sunday tournament, does it count? Or can qualified members only play against qualified members for their points to count?

1) If you are not qualified, do not play in the Sunday tournament.
2) If you are not qualified, do not play in the Sunday tournament.
3) If you are not qualified, do not play in the Sunday tournament.
4) Do not report "for-fun" matches (where at least one unqualified member played) via the database on Sunday or these matches may be unknowingly included in the tournament results. On Sundays, report "for-fun" matches to your immediate superiors or report the matches on a Monday instead.
5) Never report SA matches via the database but rather by screenshot directly to the grader for the Test of Endurance -- Spears Tarentae (spearstarentae@gmail.com)
6) If you are not qualified, do not play in the Sunday tournament.
7) If you are not qualified and report matches via the database during a Sunday Tournament, you will be sent to the EH for processing.
8) If you are not qualified, do not play in the Sunday tournament.

Awww. Anyone who says Pyralis doesn't have a sense of humor should be emailed a copy of that post. Heh. As he said, you can only play other qualified members for POINTS. You're more than welcome to play anyone on any day, but if you intend to play for points, you better make sure your opponents are qualified. Any matches played against unqualified persons will not be counted for points, though I would encourage everyone to play as much as possible.

It's not that hard to make it to even one match during the gaming nights; you only have to play a single match on Tuesday, Thursday, or at an ICTE in the two week period to qualify. I would encourage you to play more than one match, because it's practice, it's fun, and we ARE a gaming club, after all. And yes, ACCLive is supported, too, in case you don't have any games. Go sign up for an ACC match, and play it through.

btw, just again, most of the information about the Sunday Tournaments can be found here: http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=11 if you want. Or here: http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=171 as well.

thanks - now maybe the "why aren't we allowed to play on sundays" mails will stop :)

hehe. Never. If things were that simple, there'd be no reason to have leaders and admins. People could just read manuals and know exactly what to do as NOVs and ACOs :P

Yea- that is wierd. Actual learning techniques that work in RL don't work in the DB... I know its a club, but jeeze. You'd think a person that has enough sense to turn a computer on, install a game or play it, for that matter, could handle reading a few words... what's this world coming to :P

Not exactly sure why this needed any clarification... I guess I've forgotten how stupid people can be. It is clearly stated in the title that this is in regards to the SUNDAY TOURNAMENT. Not Sunday the day of the week. I also mention that to play in the SUNDAY TOURNAMENT you need to qualify.

Again, if you have questions about anything I say then ask me. There's a high chance that I'll know what I meant (say around 100% chance). Other people may be able to guess but I can guarantee that I know what I mean all the time.
