ICTE— Destroyed: July 02

ICTE: http://icte.starwarsalliance.com (opens new window).

Well, the results are in. We had 19 team matches (of which 3 were 5v5s - which I've never seen before in the ICTE... woohoo). 105 1v1s were played. Including the bonus, about 420 CFs will be awarded when I find time to flood the database with requests. Bwahaha. I bet you this many CFs has never been awarded for any single-day event in the DB's history.

I would like to make a few notes.

First, welcome Tulkar of Plagueis, Xtreme of Naga Sadow, Aevin Lightwave of Taldryan, Archean of Tarentum, and Alistair of Tarentum to the ICTE. Each of them did a wonderful job and played an average of 6-7 matches each. This is really impressive for newcomers to the ICTE. Each did a great job at supporting their clans. I'm sure all of them had a ton of fun too. :)

Second, good work especially to Aevin Lightwave of Taldryan who has proven that you can play in the ICTE even if you are unable to get on IRC and sign-up with the bot. He's had a heck of time trying to connect for the last two and we still can't figure out why. However, he had the patience and motivation to speak with people that were on IRC, get in the SA Server, and play in 8 full JA games, including team matches. Congrats!

Third, congratulations to Archean of Tarentum who managed to play the first XvT matches played in the ICTE for just under 5 months. He's only had the game for a few days, but has already shown that he is a quick learner and eager to play more XvT. Maybe we can convince him to get XWA too. heheh. I think people like him will help to ensure that we have just a few more flight sim matches played every so often. He and I have already set up a match for Tuesday. I look forward to that.

Rankings by Clan:

Clan Taldryan, 7 participants, 174.83 CFs

Clan Tarentum, 6 participants, 135.50 CFs

Clan Plagueis, 6 participants, 30.17 CFs

Clan Naga Sadow, 5 participants, 27.67 CFs

Clan Arcona, 1 participant, 16.33 CFs

Rogue Jedi, 1 participant, 1.33 CFs

Clan Scholae Palatinae, 1 participant, 1.00 CF

Clan Taldryan has won this ICTE. Each of its participating members (Kraval, Duga, Pyralis, Chaos, Bene, Aevin, and Nexus) will receive the 5 CFs bonus. It will receive 174.83 + 35 CFs of the 421.83 total CFs - about 50% of the total. Impressive performance.

Special mention also goes to House Tridens of Clan Tarentum, which had the largest showing of members of any one house in the DB. They put up a good fight with 6 very active players. Dinaari of Taldryan had 5 and Ludo Kressh of Naga Sadow had 4.

This concludes this week's ICTE. The final spreadsheet has been posted. Crescents and Clusters of Fire will not be rewarded for another day, at most. In the meantime, check out the ICTE page: http://icte.starwarsalliance.com (opens new window).

On July 9th and July 16th, Templar Duga Arkarso (JAlford3@nc.rr.com) or Duga on IRC will be running the ICTE while I'm on a Leave of Absence for about 10 days. You will report scores to him during those events. I'll be back on the 23rd, pending no disasters.

If you have any questions that I can answer before Friday, just let me know. Congratulations everyone on a hugely popular and successful ICTE! Team matches are awesome.

btw, I will need to spend some time drafting a set of "common sense" rules for the ICTE that have been common policy for about 9 months now.

Why?

A few have a "broken" some common sense unwritten rules - some accidentally, some perhaps not. There were a few "disagreements" on what sort of matches consistute as legitimate, countable matches. In the end, no mediation acceptable to both parties was reached since I was seen as being biased toward one side. Go figure...

Therefore, I have no choice but to go ahead and write out detailed rules for DB players participating in the ICTE. I will try to write these so that they are unexploitable. I'm not really sure when that will be done.

400+ CFs? h8 Pyr :P

the final spreadsheeet is Not posted.....hahaha
