Family Census Results

** Updated **

The Brotherhood Family Census has been going on for a while now so I figure I’ve given everyone who wanted to reply enough time to do so. However, because I’m a nice person and I may have missed a family while I combed the database today, any other family that hasn’t yet reported to me still has an opportunity to do so. Please do it as soon as possible so I can get this list up to date. After today, name changes will be monitored for family changes and new checks will be enforced. I’ll discuss those in a moment.

Firstly, here is a list of all the families that have been logged as existing in the Brotherhood. PLEASE REMEMBER THIS DOES NOT MEAN YOU ARE AN OFFICIAL FAMILY. It only means that you exist as a family unit (official/unofficial) and there is a record existing for your family. The whole issue of whether or not a family is official or not will be dealt with by the Herald’s office. Here is the list:

If your family is not included in this list, contact me at syn.kaek [at] gmail [dot] com and give me as much family information as possible – but primarily a roster!

At this time, I need all of these families to designate an official representative. This doesn’t have to be a patriarch or anything but I need someone who I know speaks on behalf of the family officially. I need to cross check rosters and have an official liaison for future purposes. This needs to be done as soon as possible.

Eventually, the more detailed results will be published online somewhere. For now, families need to designate an official representative and that individual needs to contact me as soon as possible.

Finally, this brings up the issue of the family related rules that were approved by the Dark Council a while ago. I will quote here a few of the rules that will relate directly to this process that need to be read by family members and aspiring family members:

_1. Families are to exist ONLY for role-playing purposes and as an external sign of a bond between friends. _ - This means no nepotism. No kidding. Seriously. Thanks :P

2. Members are only permitted to be in ONE family at a time. - I really hate to enforce this as I know it’s going to irritate some people but I’m afraid we’re going to have to consider it. I’ll discuss individual cases with those of you that currently are members of more than one family. As to future family members, just join one if you really must :P

13. "Family hopping" will not be allowed. After leaving one family a member will be required to wait 4-6 months before they are permitted to join another. - As it says

The rest of the rules should be up online somewhere but they mostly pertain to official families. If they’re not up, I’ll eventually add them along with the more detailed list.

Finally, some members have asked me about founding or joining families. If you want to create a new family, you’ll have to submit a name change request like everybody else. It will also be preferable for you to contact myself and Khan beforehand so we can add you to the list. The rules for founding families will probably change in the near future but I’m not sure. If you want to join a family, you submit a name change request like normal. I will be checking with the family representative on those requesting to join.

Thanks for reading! The rules on families will hopefully be clarified in the very near future.
