Brethren,

Mav has been the Deputy Grand Master for a little under a year now, and served as Lord Chamberlain for a long period before that. In that time, Mav has been completely indispensable to the Brotherhood. As my right hand man, Mav was always available to help members out, comment on changes, work on projects, and guide leaders into doing the right thing. Mav was a voice of reason - his viewpoints always counterbalanced mine; we made a great team.

As you should know, Mav has fallen under some hard times in Real Life. He's been on an extended LoA for a while and has been trying to straighten things out. Unfortunately, nothing is better to the point that he can devote time to the DB again, so Mav has decided to step back from DGM.

I'm sad about this, but we all know times like this come. Mav is a good friend. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers as he goes through some rough times.

I have already picked out who will replace Mav. to those I have already told about this, they did not find my choice shocking at all. Kir Katarn, former Consul of Taldryan, will be taking over for Mav as Deputy Grand Master effective immediately.

Kir has years of experience leading in this club. He was Consul of Taldryan during two and a half very successful years. He has worked on countless projects outside of that and has always been a great sounding board for ideas. Kir is a committed worker who will always give 110% effort. He will do an excellent job.

Kir will be picking up exactly where Mav left off. If you have witnessed how I work with a DGM, you know that I give the position full authority to do what needs be done. Kir will be picking up the slack on projects, problems, and other things that I simply cannot get to. He acts with my authority and can talk in my stead.

Kir will introduce himself and some of his plans soon. In the meantime, please join me in congratulating him on this excellent appointment. DGM is a position that many strive for and is only available rarely. This is truly a big step for him.

My thanks goes out to Mav once more and for Kir for stepping up to the challenge. Together we'll move the Brotherhood forward.
