Regarding CG and Jam3z...a word of thanks

Hello all,

This weekend the DB had two great losses in that both CG and Jam3z resigned from their positions on the Dark Council. Contrary to some things people have mentioned to me, this didn't come as a surprise. We have known for a long time that RL was increasingly burdensome for the two and that we may eventually come to this. I have talked to both of them about it prio to this weekend.

The forewarning does not make the loss any easier; CG and Jam3z will be missed. I think that it's hard to put into perspective the contributions of our beloved codemonkeys. Let me put it this way: this club would not exist today without CG and Jam3z. We all owe them a debt of graditude.

I don't think anyone besides me can really relate to the level of effort that is needed to keep the DB site running and work on improvements. It's hard to relate when you don't know the systems and the effort needed to make changes. Coding for the DB takes a long time and I think we all often take forgranted the systems we have. The ACC, for example, is an amazingly complex system that Jam3z made. The fact that it runs so well is a testament to the time and effort behind it. All the little features of our site that he and CG have created -- that was their blood sweat and, in the case of some of our older pages, tears.

What's my point? This: do take a moment to thank CG and Jam3z both personally. They deserve every bit of credit that we may throw their way.

My personal thanks go out to both -- the DB is forever in your debt.

I will have further details in the next few days about SCL and LA.

Hear hear!

Thank you both for all you have done. Good luck with your RL undertakings.

Thanks to the both of you. I can still remember back when you two first joined up...and had to put up with me as your QUA. Good luck in whatever comes your way.
