Some comments on Amalgamation

Hey all,

There were a copuple things that I have wanted to address, so here we go.

There wasn't quite an appropriate place within the documents to comment on the service of both Telona and Korras. I wanted to take a moment to say thank you for the effort both members have put into their DC spots. If you know me well, you know that the last thing I ever want to do is disappoint or make someone mad at me. I will generally work as hard as I can for a compromise. That I was firm in the dissolution of the Order Leader positions here shows how important I think it is to the administration of the DC.

That came at a price though: I lost two great DC members in the process. Both Telona and Korras are hard workers and I enjoyed working with them on projects and day to day activities. I had absolutely no problems with the work that they did -- just the organization and amount of their duties and roles as it fit into the whole of the DC. Truly, I had a lot of trouble coming to grips with this decision simply because I like them both as people -- but when it came down to it, I need to put the best interest of the club ahead of emotion.

I think however, that these changes are for the best. Korras has moved back into PCON of CNS and is heading up the Gaming Tribune position. He and I talked today about how his new arrangement will actually allow him to do more than the work that he was doing as OHC. Telona and I talked and she wants to take a break in the Rogues or as a Tarentum member, but I have confidence that she'll be back to full activity.

Both members deserve our thanks and graditude for their service. My hat goes off to you both.

We should all remember though, that no lack of position should hold back our initiative to push for change. We should remember that the OLs were not the only positions on the DC with competent people. I have heard a few comments along the lines of "where do we go with out problems now? We have no one to help us!" and I feel that makes the perfect case for what we talked about with the OLs being a barrier between the members and the DC. Without the OLs, we will need to refocus our attention on the Consuls, the remaining DC members, their assistants. And don't forget that both Kir and I have open door policies. If you have the misconception that we don't answer concerns that are mailed to us, that's only because you've never tried. Please utilize the resources that are available to you.

As I've said before, I welcome any questions or comments. Please see the post below for the message Board topic's URL.
