Hey hey hey! Good news today!
When Muz stepped in as Herald one of the first things that he set his mind on was getting the Training Saber system up and running. After quick work, some test making and some Radek programming, members had the Training Saber on their dossiers...
...but then there were some Dark Jedi Knights who wanted sabers so sweet. Muz agreed: the lightsaber picker on the site needed a good update. So after a lot of work, it's finally here: a New Lightsaber Construction tool!
Muz and his staff have done an amazing job with this. There are now 240 different combinations to choose from for DJK members, and then gain another rank and you get another 74 options! Each of those options required making a new saber and then a separate graphic for each custom part to it -- Muz put a lot into it. He's done great.
On my end, I took the old saber picker and cleaned up the code. As is our new policy with the site, any modification to a page means that we re-work the code to fit into the new coding standards we've implemented. I made everything work right, reorganized and commented the file and got rid of some of the old hacks that were left in it.
Now we are good for a launch: if you are a Dark Jedi Knight or higher, log in and click on "Lightsaber Construction Tool." Be careful if you already have a custom lightsaber! Submitting this form will overwirte the link tot he graphic (not the graphic istself though). You can play with the fields though to see the pretty graphics.
Also, this next thing was completed some time ago, but we forgot to link it up. Now's a good time. We have built a Custom Lightsaber Request form for the site. This will show up when you are allowed to request a custom saber. The form will allow you to pick from the various options that are available for you rank. Please use this rather than emailing straight to Muz.
A big thanks again to everyone who contributed to these projects. Muz has done a fabulous job with the graphics. Jac, you did a good job on the coding...hey thanks! (thanks too to Pyr and Shin for initial coding on the custom form).

Thanks for doing so much work Muz, staff, and Jac. It might seem like it's not really a big deal to a lot of people to just have a better looking saber on dossiers, but these look really kick ass and put the old ones to shame, gives members more to aspire to. It makes everything look better. You can tell a lot of work was put into this, and I appreciate that.
