The Dark Voice: Exodus Issue

To answer one question on everybody's mind: The February issue of the DV will not be released as its own issue. Instead, its content will be assimilated by the Exodus Issue of the Dark Voice.

What the heck is the Exodus?
Prior to the Exodus, the Dark Brotherhood was a “subgroup” of an organization known as the Emperor’s Hammer. In this hierarchy, the Grand Master was not at the top of the food chain. Instead, he was subordinated by a Fleet Commander and his Executive Officer. Over time, the FC and XO became less and less able to effectively manage their subgroups as they grew more and more distant from both the general membership and leadership bodies (like the Dark Council). This led them to practice wholly arbitrary, uninformed, and destructive decisions without regard for their subgroups (like the Dark Brotherhood). The Dark Brotherhood, being one of their most healthy and well-lead subgroups, was tired of dealing with the foolish stupidity of the FC/XO and the psychological warfare through which they tried to maintain power. To preserve the independent identity of the organization and to save the general membership from the influences of the FC/XO, seven public leaders of the Dark Brotherhood chose to do something about the problems which faced the club. The following document was written in response to the FC/XO: Petition for the Redress of Grievances: April 12, 2003. Its intentions were to regain “sister” status to the Emperor’s Hammer. Essentially, the Grand Master would be the ultimate authority over all matters relating to the Dark Brotherhood. (This is a status the Dark Brotherhood had when it first joined up with the Emperor’s Hammer in 1995).

The petition was ignored, thrown out, and its authors expelled from the Emperor’s Hammer (today, they are known as “The Seven”). Pursuant to these events, the 2nd Dark Brotherhood Civil War ensued during which most of the population of the Dark Brotherhood followed The Seven and fled to the Antei System (where we reside fictionally, today). Read an abbreviated fictional account here: Codex, Chapter 15: A History of the Brotherhood. Scroll down to "The Second Brotherhood Civil War."

The Exodus is a very important turning point in the history of our organization. The administrative and personal freedoms gained from the Exodus were vast, and we as a club have evolved very dramatically since. The Dark Brotherhood has seen a boon of creative growth and a number of reforms completely unseen prior to 2003. Today, those changes continue and many of them have been initiated or cultivated by our GM Jac Cotelin.

We publish a special version of the Dark Voice to commemorate the Exodus. This April 12, 2006, we celebrate the third anniversary of the Exodus. Today, we are very much alive and very much a dominant figure in the realm of online Star Wars clubs. Rejoice in these times, brethren.
