Change is in the air...

Greetings all,

Before I say anything else I would like to congratulate Dark Side Adept Korras on his appointment to Consul of Clan Naga Sadow. I am glad to be able to leave the Clan in the confidence that Korras will do a good job. He has been a worthy Proconsul and was an exceptional Obelisk High Commander so will make a fine leader for the Clan, and I’m sure the Sons will look after him if need be.

I’ll spare everyone the lengthy introduction as most know me already; suffice to say I’m your new Deputy Grand Master (if you want the long version it’s in the comments).

I know it wasn’t an easy decision and so my thanks go out to Jac for placing his trust in me. I’d also like to express my thanks to the other applicants, no doubt some of you have better ideas than I do on various issues so I hope to be able to work with you and help you develop them so they don’t go to waste. Just because I’m the one that’s been landed with doing the work doesn’t mean everyone else who applied can’t be just as much a part of this Office.

Change. That’s the main thing I want to stress for now. Following my stint on the Dark Council I’ve spent the past year connecting with normal members again getting to know what affects us all. I know there are many things people are unhappy with and these are the things I want to change. If anyone thinks I plan to sit here and maintain the status quo forget it. I am all about change. Jac is well aware of this and knows I often don’t see eye to eye with the Dark Council, so expect a lot of active discussion and debate within the Dark Council in the months to come.

I am also about input. Those who are familiar with my ways in Clan Naga Sadow will know that outside the most exceptional circumstances I never make a decision without consulting others first. It is my firm belief that the Dark Council exists for the members, and that I, as Deputy Grand Master, am here to serve the members. I say this because I don’t want anyone seeing me as being the big bad boss, if you have a problem then I want to hear it, I won’t look badly on anyone just because we disagree, in fact I encourage debate because it’s only through thorough discussion that we get the best for all.

So what can you expect to see from me? Ideas. Big ideas. I don’t expect all of them to be popular, but then I don’t proclaim to know the answer to everything. I am tired of the outdated attitude that the Dark Council run the Dark Brotherhood when in reality the Dark Council serves the Dark Brotherhood. I want the Dark Brotherhood to be the club the members of today want it to be, not the members of six years ago. Expect to see a lot of polls, calls for member input, think tanks, debate committees; the works. The last year has made me appreciate the differences in opinion between the regular member and the Dark Council and I hope to put that perspective into action.

We’ve spent the last three years setting up a fair and democratic system for running the club. I believe its time we started making use of it and getting results. After endless talk about what we want to do I believe it is time we sat down and actually did it. We’ve been the club of yesterday for too long, its time to start being the club of tomorrow.

My thanks again to Jac and the whole club for giving me this opportunity, after being here for nearly seven years it is truly an honour.

I shall say more in the coming days,

His Excellency, Dark Jedi Master Xanos Zorrixor, Sith'ari, Son of Sadow
Deputy Grand Master of the Dark Brotherhood
Master of the First Echelon of the Sith Order
Master of the First Caste of the Inner Order

As mentioned in the main text a little more information for those who don't know me. I joined the DB in 1999 as a member of House Ludo Kressh in Clan Naga Sadow.

I spent a little under a year there before I became Aedile, six months passed before I became Quaestor where I stayed for thirteen months. I stepped up to Proconsul where I then remaind for just over a year before taking the reigns as Consul.

I held Consul for over a year, a period of about fourteen months, before finally stepping up to the Dark Council and taking over as Sith High Warrior in October 2003. I was on the Dark Council for a little under a year before real life forced me to take six months out, spending that time back in my home of House Ludo Kressh.

I returned to full activity again at the start of 2005, taking Proconsul again before shortly after becoming Consul once more. I've since been Consul for most of the past year before finally ending up Deputy Grand Master today.

If anyone has any other questions feel free to ask.

I thought i'd note here, those of you who dont know Xanos/ or as many call him, Goat, he rants. :-P

When he types he really types, so dont get into any arguements with him, because if he doesnt win by fact, he'll win because you cant be bothered too type anymore :-P

It's more that you can't keep up with the amount oif text he spouts out and surrender :o)

This post, coupled with his comment is still short for Goat. Must be slipping with his new position :P

I hadn't said it before, so just congrats on the job, Goat. Looks like it'll prove an interesting time

Yeah too bad Goat's not American, he'd be a great congressman. He's already a master of the Fillibuster.

Only reason goats posts here are so short is because he can't remember the HTML to do all the fancy effects he wants :P

Congratulation Goat.

Sweet! Grats on your appointment Goat! :-D

Congrats!
