Slight clarification about the direction of my anger

In my post below I said the following: "I have just emailed the Dark Council (which now includes the Consuls) to chew them out for the incompetency in leadership that has been displayed over the last few days."

I have heard a lot of people say "Yeah! Jac chewed out the DC!" or "Why did Jac chew out the entiure DC for Kaiann's problems" or "Yeah! Jac agreed with the Consuls and grew some balls with them!"

Let me clarify: I am pissed at the Full-time DC members and the Consuls. That is the current composition of the DC, as the Consuls were added as DC members two weeks ago. No one did a good job at all in resolving problems with the GJW -- They are all to blame and I am angered all over. [Well, I'm getting better now]

Now, as a point of moving on: I have asked for details on the specific problems the Consuls have and have received word from Halcyon and Korras so far. I have instructed Kaiann to release more information to the DC so we can iron out more details. I am working to figure out everything that happened so we can fix it -- I was not CC:ed or told about a lot of the conversations evidentially, which makes it hard.

I'll have more as things develop.
Jac

and?

And people shouldnt go batshit simply because they dont get it or dont feel like doing that the GJW disires...

Personally...the whole Consul VS DC thing was just...well...shitty..

but hearing the in depth story of it all, I kinda see where it came from, still not saying it was the right thing to do though.

Lets just hope Jac can settle this before it gets out of hand...worse than it already has...because this is simply getting us no where :P

People should go bat shit when their requests for clarification and assistance go unanswered.

Requests should go thru private channels first. However if requests thru private channels fail to meet with suitable action then airing the grievances in public is appropriate. If all of the Consuls agree that something needs to be done and agree on what needs fixing then it is in fact broken. Anyone who has been around here very long knows the Consuls never agree on anything. It may not be “nice” to bitch out loud but occasionally it needs to be done. In this case it needed to be done, the majority were against the direction of the GJW, which is something that affects all active members on a daily basis. Some times you have to be rude and/or mean to get the job done.

The solution may be as simple as a re-write and more involvement by the Clans in dictating the plot, or it may be as messy as leadership needing to be replaced. One thing that is sure is something went very wrong, and it needs fixing sooner rather then later.

This is something that has plagued the GJW for as far as I can remember. Clans or members involved in piece of fiction are never or very very rarely called upon to ask just a simple question "How whould your character react to this ?". When that happens on a wider scale like all clans, people get surely messy.

I think this instance will serve to show that Consuls should be involved in Great Jedi War planning, even if on a limited basis. Consuls will be able to verify information to be accurate and appropriate to their Clans, and will help provide the realism needed. Consuls are expected to be persons who will guide their Clans, as well as fight for their respective Clans' right. They are also expected to be, as a body of Consuls, a group of individuals who will work for the progress of the entire Brotherhood.

This current example has shown that the Consuls are able to work together when necessary, and will fight with, and for each other, when the members of the Dark Council are in the wrong. Whether or not this matter "could've been handled differently," the actions of the Consuls was an appropriate one. It was not a statement of secession, nor a statement to invalidate this Great Jedi War, or the Dark Council. It was a public declaration to the Dark Council that, yeah, you fouled up, and you need to get it right, or we're going to have deeper issues with it.

The consuls should have been at least informed to a degree from the beginning. Anything being kept secret from the get go is ensured to suck. The four or five major rules revisions/clarifications/whatever is evidence enough of that. I had hoped that people learned from better examples of major comps (COUGHCOUGHKORRASORoSCOUGH) than from shitty ones (MAIRIN). Maybe instead of flaunting their self importance, organizers would tend to think outside the box and incorporate the ideas of others.
