Star Wars: Legacy 1: Broken: Part 1 <-

"I have broken the spine of the galaxy. Nearly a hundred years ago, the Yuuzhan Vong invaded, plunging the galaxy into deep chaos - bleeding and weakening it. Patient in the Force, I waited, as the galaxy grew darker.

I watched as the invaders, finally defeated, were allowed to live in exile on the sentient planet, Zonama Sekot. A folly designed by the Jedi, but ultimately, that too served my purpose. Lingering hatred festered on worlds that had suffered heavaily at the hands of the Yuuzhan Vong. That hatred gave us our opening. I made an alliance with the reborn Empire at Bastion. We manufactured a cause for war, making the Vong seem responsible. Split, the Galactic Aliance began to fight itself. And so died.

I know the Jedi from old. They could never share my vision. Two days ago the Jedi Temple on Coruscant fell. Today, at their Academy on Ossus, the last of the Jedi will die. Sometimes things must be broken in order to be rebuilt. As I have bent the Force to my will, so I will bend the galaxy and it will know order. My true work is about to begin."
- From the Holocron of Darth Krayt, Lord of the Sith

Legacy #1, the first real part of the new Legacy comic series, was released a couple of days ago. Its a surprisingly good start to the series and has so far recieved mostly positive reviews.

The first edition starts off with the Sith attack on the Jedi Temple on Ossus, led by Darth Nihl, the Nagai on the right with the tattered skirt. The second half is then the attempted assassination of Emperor Roan Fel by Darth Krayt, the guy in the Vonduun crab armor on the left and leader of the Sith Order, who then declares himself Emperor. The issue also features Darth Maladi and Darth Wyyrlok.

His Eminence
Dark Jedi Master Xanos Zorrixor
Deputy Grand Master of the Brotherhood

Goat....

That is not a skirt, it's an intergalactic kilt.

/me shakes his head and walks away.

It's a skirt :P

I been looking for a good comic book store here in New Jersey, but every address I get the store either went out of business or its a store that only carries Harvey or Disney comics and children books.

If anyone is from NJ and can recomend me a store, I would be much oblige to you.

Easiest option might just be to do mail order. www.tfaw.com is Dark Horse's mail order division and ship practically all their stuff worldwide. I heard eBay is pretty good for getting hold of things too, at least if you catch them early while stocks are still there around the release date.

I wasn't all that impressed, when I read it. The beginning was kind of weak; like we were thrown into the middle of a story. I don't know what to make of any of the characters. It was very jumbled, and very...canonesque. Like they were trying to fit into a certain shape of a plotline, and not really make their own.

The art wasn't all that great either. :P

"The beginning was kind of weak; like we were thrown into the middle of a story. I don't know what to make of any of the characters."

That was kind of the intention as it was meant to be exactly the same as the first ten minutes of A New Hope :P

Heh. True. And I did think of that as I wrote my comment. But the thing is...A New Hope was one whole movie. You didn't get it in segments. You found out (for the most part) who the characters were by the end of the movie. It's one thing to adapt such a storytelling technique to something that's 2+ hours long. Quite different when it's only a handful of pages.
