It seems I'll have to say this (re: GJW ACC)

I have received several complaints about battle dodging in the ACC, especially by letting challenges hang in the air and not accepting.

So, to whom it may concern:

I shall point you to the rule of the event that you have to accept any pending challenges before you can issue some on your own. Should I find this rule violated, I will not hesitate to correct the results accordingly.

However, before I will deal out any harsh penalties, I will give all fighters a chance to play the event as intended. Please check your challenges ASAP and if you have any pending, accept them and start fighting. You have until Saturday to start any matches that you should have accepted by the rules - if I see any challenges still open in spite of them being "must accept", I will treat that as match dodging.

This is your warning - I do not wish to deal out penalties, but much less will I accept honest members being disadvantaged by questionable behavior.

Members who have issued challenges that went unaccepted so far - please notify me of who needs reviewing (i.e. who has not yet accepted). It makes my job easier.

I declined everyone who challenged me. They didnt even ask me on IRC or whatever and just blindly challenged me. I dont want to play ACC for the GJW because, simple version, I dont want to.

So it isnt match dodging because I dont play others in ACC....

I guess thats something that should be working on, forcing people to ask someone on IRC first before challenging them. Else the declining people feel they HAVE to do those matches while they didnt want them...

Ylith

Ylith and others:

It is perfectly fine to decline all ACC challenges.

However the complaints I received aimed at members who have declined or simply ignored challenges yet do play in other battles. THOSE are the ones who are supposed to feel addressed by this post.

Sorry if anyone felt targeted who was not :)

So the only way to parcipate in this ACC event, is to have played in the first one, correct?

If not....I'm open for fights, if so, I still think this GJW sucks :P

I think Yilth is correct in assuming that those who do not wish to participate in the ACC should not feel inclined to do so. If one chooses not to participate then I see no logical reason why they shouldn’t.

What I recommend is the creation of a list; let us call it the "list of the willing" for convenience sake. All such competitions that revolve around the ACC should have a list of those individuals who are willing to participate. One can sign-on or register to make things simpler to organize.

This list should then be accessible to all participants, and thus all battle requests will be isolated to only those names that are present on the list. This will isolate participation to only those who are truly willing to participate in the event. I am sure this ideology can be carried into other genres and platforms.

In this way the issue of match dodging can be clearly viewed and will limit the possibility of foul play.

Since "this" ACC event is only a continuation of an already existing one, you can't join it anymore. You'll have to wait for the next one or head over to ACC live to express your feeling of suckyness in an ACC fight :P

Tiberius - I will have something like that for the remaining ACC event of the war. I didn't think dodging and timeouts would be nearly as big an issue in this event as they became, so I wanted to save people the extra signup.

Tiberius: The post isn't aimed at people who don't want to participate AT ALL, as I thought Kaiann had made clear. Instead, it's aimed at people who are willing to participate, as they accept challenges from a few people- however, they also ignore other challenges because they don't want to fight that person or they perhaps want to deny that person participation. Not accepting or declining a challenge is match-dodging, as the challenger doesn't know what's happening to their challenge.

In addition to those described in the previous comment, there are those that accept a challenge and then, after seeing a couple fo posts by their opponent, flee with no consequence so as to avoid a loss under the rules in place for the GJW. Then there are even those that do what I described in the prior sentnce and still keep other battles active, presumably the ones they like.

The idea of a "pool" described by Tiberius is a good idea. Once on the pool, dodging, whether a) not accepting challenges, b) fleeing with no consequence by doing so while under the minimum post amount or c) fleeing with no consequence while still choosing to stay and fight others, would come at a cost to one's clan.

These views are not necessarily the views of the ACC or its staff. They are my own.

I'd like to add that I lobbied very hard to get a full six battles and in doing agreed in IRC to battles with several people. I both challenged and was challenged however ended up with more than the alloted six. Some battles could not be opened and others had to be denied because of this. So if you are a person who was denied by me it was nothing personal.

I will not turn this into a message board but as for you, DJK Sharmin Wheyes, I am not talking about you.

I would like to add one small point. Since i became a member of the ACC I have relied on email to check challanges. Since the GJW started I have not recieved emails regarding a single thing in the ACC. I think others may also have had problems in this regard. I just thought i would mention this as a point to consider
