Hahaha,

Yes - I have finally decided to appoint a Praetor. I simply have too much stuff going on in both the DB and RL to keep going on alone. I appreciate the work of my Magistrates who have helped me where I could not do the work but I need someone else to share some of the greater burden of the position.

So preemptively - if you think I'm going to appoint you Praetor, I'm not. Yeah, I know: sad and brutal. But, whatever. I've spent the last 6 months of my tenure as MAA putting up with people asking me for this job. So I definitely have earned the right to tell all of you to shut the hell up.

Instead, I have decided to appoint Halc, the recently retired Consul of Arcona, as my Praetor. Halc and I have had strong personal and working relationships since I came back to the DB a few years ago (<3). Halc also has a good mind for adjudication - and he sucks at other stuff - which is a requirement for doing MAAish work. He is also one of the few individuals who never freakin asked me to be Praetor - even jokingly! He could've taken advantage of our friendship but he never did - probably because he was way too busy.

So anyways, 'nuff said. It's time to take my unofficial bitch and make him my official bitch. Halc is my Praetor.

For those of you whose dreams of becoming MAA are shattered, fear not! This doesn't mean Halc gets my job when I retire. Hell, I could fire him in a second if I felt like it or he started slacking (and I will too, Halc, so don't get any ideas). And being Praetor doesn't entitle you to succeed someone. But still, most of you who aspire to my job annoy me anyhow so your chances are probably pretty slim :P

edit In other news, Kraval has accepted my offer to serve as my third and final Magistrate. His role in the office will be left intentionally nebulous because I like to keep you people guessing. But he will be important. He pwns.
