November Gaming Event - Updated

Greetings all... King of the Hill is drawing to a close, and though I don't have the final details just yet, I can assure you the competition did quite well. I'll have full results on Friday night because I'll be working late the next couple days.

Moving on. November shall be a month dedicated to gaming of the non-Star Wars variety. That's right. For all you people who constantly excuse yourself from gaming on the basis that Star Wars games aren't good enough, here's your chance to prove how active you can be.

During the regular gaming nights (in this case Monday-Friday + Sunday) members can join #dbgaming and create matches for ANY multiplayer PC game available. CFs will be earned in the classic 1/win and .33/loss style as that's how the form functions. Note: MMORPGs (or MMO Games in general) do not count for this competition.

Though there are no technical rules for every game out there, everyone is still expected to follow the Rites of Combat – such as being in #dbgaming to create matches, codes of conduct, and rules on forfeits. These all remain unchanged. Competition details are here.

UPDATE

Reporting – Thanks to Jac (<3 Jac) you can now report "Other" platforms using the existing match submission interface. Simply login, check your admin options for Submit Gaming Scores, then fill in the Competition, and for Platform select "Other Platform" Then fill in the fill-inable field with the game (ex: Team Fortress 2) And the rest is what you're used to.

Team-based Games – There are a number of games that are geared towards team play (example: Team Fortress 2). These games will require a minimum of 4 participants to be counted as 1v1 TF2 would be fairly retarded (or so I’m told) Use common sense here people. If you’re playing a huge game that normally has 6+ players than you probably shouldn’t be playing it 1v1.

Regular DB Platforms – You can still play regular DB matches and report via the admin page like normal.

Awarding – Clusters of Fire will be awarded as I have already mentioned. Pendants of Blood will also be awarded to the best win/loss record for each week. I’ll be awarding one for the regular DB games and another for the non-SW games so they won’t be in direct conflict. Crescents will also be awarded bi-weekly to the top participants in non-SW gaming.

Have fun and enjoy your chance to play some of the cool non-SW games. FYI Unreal Tournament is released in a couple weeks and it looks amazingly sexy. (But, more importantly, Mass Effect and Assassin’s Creed are released in November!! /me orgasms at the thought. And 360 ftw.)
