Hey new members,

When you joined and finished the Test of Lore, did you receive an email from Google Groups asking you to join your clan's mailing list?

im no new member, recently returned but i was readded to my clan's emaillist.

I got a confirmation i was added to my clan's group.

Is the adding of new members to the mailing lists a script you have programmed... or something my Summit and I need to keep up with?

It's a mixed responsibility -- the script isn't working atm, but as soon as it's fixed, when a member transfers in or joins, the website will send an email for that member to subscribe them to the mailing list. That member will then get an email asking them to confirm that subscription.

Clan leaders and envoys need to remind new members and transferees that the confirmation email is coming and that they need to accept the subscription. The clan should also check the mailing list every 2-4 weeks against the roster to ensure that everyone is on it. The way I do that normally is by making an excel spreadsheet of the mailing list create through our administration pages and then putting that right next to a list of addresses from the google groups -- then I just mark the differences. Dark Councilors are generally on the clan mailing lists too.

I'm looking into some upgrades in which we can have the stuff update automatically.
