To expand on what I said last week (mainly because I forgot to include it) all images must include a copyright declarations (wether it be fairuse or creative commons) and be included in the appropriate categories. There is a nice wall of text above the file upload form now with helpful links to templates which declare the copyright status of the image as well as the list of image categories.

If you are unsure, ask a staff member.

In other news the wiki staff have been (and will continue to) scouring character articles for things that push them well outside the realm of Star Wars realism. In particular will are looking at:

  • Interactions with core canon characters - No you were not a super uber secret apprentice of Darth Vader.

  • Using a planet after it has been blown up - Don't laugh, we have seen a case of this.

  • Being of some weird or impossible combination of species - Wait, your mother was a Wookiee and your father was a Wamp Rat? Comical: Yes. Possible: Not so much.

  • Being a custom, unapproved, species - Tron summed this point up best: "[When] a person basically creates their character entirely off a character they read about in another sci-fi/fantasy novel and just add little elements of Star Wars then it's really the world of the novel that they read or enjoy and not anything to do with Star Wars."

  • Coming from a non canon planet (unless it is a DB planet) - The wiki staff will blow up you planet... and then you are affected by point two.

Tip of the Report

An often overlooked power-tool is the edit toolbar.

Except for the last two buttons on the bar, the way they are used is to select some text (that is, highlight the text), then click on the desired button. This will format the text selected. Here's what the buttons do:

Bold Icon - Bold or strong emphasis

Italic Icon - Italic or emphasis

Internal Link Icon - Internal link

External Link Icon - External link

Section Heading Icon - Section heading

Insert Image Icon - Insert image

Insert Media Icon - Insert media

Math Formula Icon - Mathematical formula

Nowiki Icon - Ignore wiki formatting

Signature Icon - Sign talk comments (with time stamp)

HR Icon - inserts Horizontal line

The last two you just click. On the others you can also click the button without selecting text first, which will insert some default text.
Just retype over the default text with the text you want to appear there.

The edit toolbar is activated by default. It can be deactivated at the Editing tab in my preferences.

Might I request you define a 'DB planet'? Because Kyataru certainly isn't canon - and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. What's wrong with someone who wishes to come from a non-canon planet? Particularly if it's realistic, well-written and reasonably detailed?

Kyataru, for all intents and purposes, is a db planet and is fine. Strictly speaking, Muz needs to approve any and all customs planets we will be allowing:

  1. DC created planets (Antei for example :P)
  2. Clan created planets.
  3. Family created planets (While we wait on concrete approval from Muz, though he will likely say yes.)

The problem with 100 APPs joining and creating custom planets is.... Where the hell are they? The known galaxy is pretty well mapped out and there are literally thousands of planets for people to use in their fiction. The only really logical place for a new planet to pop up now is in from out side of the galaxy, and most species encountered from there have been hostile to pretty much everyone (re: Vong).
