Brethren,

(Man, I've always wanted to use that word. Sooooooooooooo dignified!).

So, yeah, it's time to go and close this for the time being. Make no mistake, the Matchmaker has been a great success in garnering general ACC attention and activity. Just for a comparison, we've had trouble keeping up with battle Judging and it's only thanks to the frankly brilliant efforts of my ACC Staff that we've been able to keep up at all. Prior to the month of May, I was able to do it all on my own with very little trouble, so there's been a lot of improvement already. In sheer battle amount, total activity in May and June was comparable the Combat Centre and Classic Hall in all of 2010. A special tip of the hat to the current crop of ACCers who made that tremendous number possible.

However, the summer is upon us, and that's lead to some changes in how things are done. There's been excellent ACC activity from certain quarters (you know who you are), but general signups have declined and have, at long last, slipped beneath the ten-signup threshold that I'd decided was my activity limit. Most people have given temporary reasons (work, exams, vacations, the like), so I fully intend to have this started up again, possibly in a new exciting variation (multiple flavors? Better taste? 50% less salt? Extra filling?). But, for now and possibly until after the Great Jedi War, we at the ACC Staff will try to find something else to amuse people over the summer.

As a reminder to all of the Clans and Houses out there: Requesting an ACC competition for your own (or Hell, even helping to think one up for all the Brotherhood!) is pretty easy. Grabbing me on IRC (#db is easiest) is probably the most reliable way, as I prefer direct conversation. In general, I look favorably on competitions if they fall within Staff capabilities, and moreso if they're interesting and unique. Even if I don't look favorably upon them, you might get them approved anyway. I'm just a guy with a job, after all. Not up to me to tell you how to have or not have fun. :P
