Galaxy Quest, Arcona Edition!

So, a bit of background information for those of us who are not older than God. Long long ago, back when the DJB was still happily part of the Emperor's Hammer, one of its subgroups played a game called Galaxy Quest, itself adapted from a fantasy TBS called Promisance. It was a fun game, with a lot of participants, in which everyone would have lots of fun building fictional space empires and then using said fictional empires to, well, beat each other up and try to claw one's way to the top. It was quite a popular game at the time, with several hundred participants from all parts of the EH.

Anyway, the split happened and then some other nasty stuff and sadly, Galaxy Quest died. Until now! insert evil laugh here

Seriously though, after some grueling tribulations that you will not be bored with here (suffice to say it involved the antediluvian horror known as the CyberGuy Filing System, better known as "That which devoured Rebirth"), the Promisance code was retrieved and given new life in Arcona. The Summit spent some time testing and renaming things, and with that mostly done, we figured it was time for a live fire tes- I mean, time for other people to share in the fun. We are happy, therefore, to invite the Brotherhood to the First Arcona Galaxy Quest Olympiad!

The rules of the game are simple to learn and can be found on the AGQ site itself. Moreover, the competition itself begins on April 16th but signups are open now. There’s plenty of time for any interested members to practice before then, as the game itself is fully active (thus allowing you to try things out without being punished for it). Then at April 16th, the game will reset and everyone can start on a fair and even level for the four weeks of its duration. The game’s rewards will vary between 2nd and 4th level Crescents depending on participation. Given how much fun this can be, we hope to be able to give someone a Ruby Crescent fairly soon. :P

But don’t waste your time thinking too much! Not when there’s a fresh round of AGQ to be played! Go! Join! Find someone you hate and rob them of all they possess! And above all, have fun!
