_The room was eerily lit. A soft glow emanated from the depths – casting subtle hues of green, blue and purple throughout the chamber. The darkness wrapped about the room’s occupants like a newborn would be wrapped in fresh linen. Darkness was embraced, not feared, in the House of Plagueis the Wise. And his children – the devotees of his teachings – held no fear. There was no room left for it in their hearts or minds; only room for their darkest secrets and greatest ambitions.

Softly, the room breathed in tension; an audible pulse reverberated through the Force. Change had become a custom in Plagueis. Without change, without adaptation, all that had been fought for would wither and perish. Sometimes change could be terrible, even ruinous. Most often, though, it would spell a new age and direction for the Disciples of Plagueis. Despite their setbacks, the next individual would step forward willingly and ready to leave their mark on the proud heritage and tradition of the House.

Today, the assembled stood witness to the loss of their Aedile. Not only had Sarak served as the Quaestor’s Right Hand, he had served the members of Plagueis. The Vision of the House would be cast by the Quaestor, Tra’an Reith. But through Sarak’s hands, the will of Tra’an would be completed. It was a partnership that had brought the Brotherhood and Plagueis through many trials and tribulations. So, the loss of one such devoted servant of the Master of Plagueis was not so trivial.

The once-Yuuzhan Vong, now-Sith Warrior marched through the center of the gathered throng. His strides were measured and purposeful. His lithe form carried him towards the front of the room. Scars crisscrossed his entire body – signs of his devout praise to the Gods of the Yuuzhan Vong – and ran up his form to his face. The Sith’s terrible, mutilated visage was held high above the bowed heads of those whom had come to celebrate his work.

Sarak Shai had done great work for his House. Work he should be proud of and those whom he served should be thankful for. As he took his place beside the Quaestor, the congregation fell to a single knee – their heads bowed. “Rise,” the single word rang out with the authority of the Aedile. In unison, the group came to their feet. “Adapt! Ascend! Avail!”

In response, the group flourished their lightsabers. As the blades erupted into existence, they roared a fiery snap-hiss. With their blades raised in a salute, they cried out…

“For Sarak!”

“For Plagueis!”_

Today we say goodbye to Sarak Shai and thank him for his service as Aedile of the House of Plagueis. Due to medical reasons, he has had to step down immediately, with no possibility of return to the Summit. We wish him well in his struggles and ask that you do the same as he works through this rough time.

As such, it is my Duty to open the slot of Aedile for House Plagueis to Applications.

• Rank of Dark Jedi Knight or higher (if you feel you can do the job, regardless of rank, apply!)
  
• 48 hour email turnaround and a moderate to high IRC presence
  -Experience of leadership at Battleteam or House level preferred, but not essential.
  -30/60/90 Day Plans for the House are essential
  -Must run at least two comps per month
  -Be willing to work with existing Summit and Aides

Activity is what drives the Brotherhood. Without activity, the Brotherhood is just another empty webspace, as are so many others. If you do not compete in competitions, you are minimally active. If you do not talk on IRC or contribute via the Google Groups, you are not active at all. Why is this important? Because if you are not active, you earn no shinies. Without shinies, you don’t get BIG SHINIES that eventually wow the MAA into giving you that much desired next promotion.

In closing:

Activity is what keeps us alive. I’d like to give a special shout out to Garloaf and Varoth. These are two of our newest members who are continuously active and have proven that sustained activity, even if it’s just one thing at a time, leads to promotions and recognition. Well done you guys!

A shout out to Gon Doru, formerly known as Fistandantilusi; Despite having a rough start, he’s come a long way and is doing exceptionally well. He continues to prove himself with near constant IRC presence and solid entries. His first competition is listed above. Give it a shot DJB.
