Plagueis Quaestor Anniversary Report

Tra'an stood, his hand against the transparisteel that held back the void. If the Quaestor of House Plagueis closed his eyes, the pull was there. It called to the Shi'ido like the original summons of his power had brought the Obelisk to Lyspair. This time, though, it was different. Where before it had been a call of seeking the power within, this was darker, and far stronger. Resisting it was costing him, but Plagueis wasn't ready yet. There was something on the Horizon, something that would change everything.

His hand fell back to his side, brushing the lightsaber there as the door slid open to reveal the enraged form of Kal di Plagia Vorrac.

"So?" The quiet sound of his voice echoed in the chamber, as it was devoid of all other sound. The shapeshifter hadn't even turned around, so used to what Kal felt like now. The feel of him was as comfortable as that of his old ship, always there to serve, like a glacier of cold solidity and purpose. “Doru told me you’d be coming. You’ve had the visions.”

"How long have you known?" The sharp, accusing tone was like a knife between them, and Tra’an could feel how livid Kal was that the secret had been kept from him. “How long have you seen the end?”

"The first time was shortly after we returned home from New Tython. The Force began to call me as it did when I first found my way to Lyspair, only... it was different.” Keeping his face hidden, the skin-shifter glanced at Kal. “I resisted the images at first, only to find that I could no longer do so when in control of a spacecraft. It's why I haven’t joined Vessicant and his squadron anymore, or personally taken my ship anywhere.” Glancing at the small flimsi portrait of his aide, Tzo, the Obelisk took on a look of weary shame. “It's why Libra has been required to come everywhere with me, even in places where it may have been... unwise." Tra'an clasped both hands behind his back, careful to hold them steady through force of will.

Turning at last to face the Last Son, he revealed the effort it was costing him. His eyes were pools of darkness, his fatigue evident even in his very stance. "The time is coming that we have feared, Kal. Darkness is at our door, a vast gulf that we will have to fight to escape. I will need all of our strength, then.” He lifted his chin, a look of authority on his face. “I will need the Sons of Plagueis at my side. Both of you.”

Tra'an moved to a nearby chair and sank into it wearily. The Aedile remained standing, the thoughts coalescing inside of his head, still trying to decipher the meaning of his visions as Tra'an shuffled through some paperwork for a sealed package. He moved it over to the edge of the table. "These are your orders moving forward. Our Orders. We're going to pull all units back to Kapsina and Morroth, unless we absolutely need them elsewhere. I want to open the Temple of Plagueis, and I want you to lead the expedition permanently. I feel as if we will need to venture into its depths, as if it will hold the key to our salvation."

The door opened again to admit the lithe and supple figure of Libra Tzo. Moving with a steady grace, she quickly made her way to Tra'an's side, kneeling beside him. As if by some power, the fatigue and stress faded from him. If not entirely, then at least enough for him to relax. "What say you, di Plagia? The life we know may soon come to an end. I don’t know where, and I don’t know when, but I know this - we cannot stop it. I fear that if we are not ready, it may be the end of us all.”

“In that case,” Kal replied, his eyes still cold but no longer full of lethal purpose, “We haven’t a moment to lose. I will move forward at once.” Turning, Vorrac strode for the door, stopping only to glance back. “And Quaestor?”

“Yes, my friend?” Tra’an asked, looking at the Battlelord with a raised eyebrow.

Kal’s voice was as cold as Morroth’s snows. “Next time you have visions like this, warn me before the Force has to.”

The Quaestor locked eyes with his Aedile, "Were it not for the need to ensure your complete belief in this, you would have been told from the beginning. I had to know you understood. I could not risk you sabotaging this. You are Sith, until you are touched by the Force, you do not believe."

“Nevertheless, if you hide these visions from me again,” He said, lethal certainty in his tone, “I’ll kill you.”

A chuckle escaped from the lips of the Obelisk. "Of that, my friend, I have no doubt."

Coruscant

Senate Building – Conference Room C**

“Congratulations on your re-election, Senator.”

Alaris Jinn smiled warmly at the response. “Thank you, Chairman,” he replied after the applause had softened. “Thank you, everyone. It’s an honor to be able to continue to serve among all of you.”

The re-election had been another doctored event to take place in Jusadih earlier in the month. He had won with 72% of the vote, though he wondered how many people were actually forced to either vote for him or were kept from voting at all. He also wondered how many ballots were “mistakenly” dropped into a vat of carbonite.

With the congratulations out of the way, the Senate Committee for the Ministry of Defense sat down and commenced their duties for the day. There were small things such as minor border disputes in the Outer-Rim, but what everyone was waiting on was the one major border dispute happening just outside GA Space.

“The Senate has been fairly well unanimous in its opposition to any military intervention in the Killik-Chiss dispute, but we’ve been asked to allocate a few military assets to locations that can be easily moved into defensive positions should the two factions go to war.” The Chairman spoke matter-of-factly, but Alaris could sense a level of unease in his voice.

Datapad dossiers were handed around in the table and everyone began to look through them. “This is the list that has been given to us by Pellaeon’s office. Are there any objections?”

One section tucked halfway down the list confused the Senator from Jusadih slightly. “Mister Chairman, there’s a small task force to be stationed out deep on the Corellian Run in the,” he returned his gaze to the dossier for a moment, “Dufilvian Sector. This seems a little out of the way if they plan to be of any use in defending the Core or Deep Core.”

“Oh, yes, that.” The Chairman took a moment to inspect it himself. “I’ll have to double check with the the Grand Admiral’s office, but it may be in place in case the Geonosians decide to be sympathetic toward the Killiks cause.”

Alaris grinned internally. Not if any report of their location disappears from record.

The Twi’lek nodded and returned his attention to the dossier as the discussion lead toward the defense of the Farlax Sector and the Metellos Trade Route.

Greetings, and welcome to the Plagueis Quaestor Report.

Today marks the second day, of my second year as Quaestor of Plagueis. It was a year that saw frightful challenges, hard work, and incredible effort from us all. Because of it, though, the first year saw us attain our goal.

My first year as Quaestor saw a successful rebuild of House Plagueis.

What does this mean to you?

Consider that when I ascended to the Throne of the Dark Tower and sat upon its august seat, it was one of peril and strife. There was little unit cohesion, little unit activity, and at times, there was outright fear that I would be the last leader of an Ascendant House.

I had the luck to see members blossom into being, and step forward to prove their worth. Members like Unus Domus, who proved himself a capable, charismatic leader. He formed the Battleteam Primus Pilus. He contributed to the success and redevelopment of Plagueis in ways that we’re still exploring.

Kal di Plagia Vorrac came home when we needed him. He helped redevelop the way in which we work with our new initiates, and his apprentice, the infamous Gon Doru Fistandantilusi, has completed all of his trials for Dark Jedi Knight, and will be the first fully promoted Dark Jedi Knight of New Plagueis.

Kodais Solatus, Koga Kage, Silent, and many others have returned to the active fold of Plagueis.

Our stalwarts, Furios Morega, Vessicant, Mograine, Alaris Jinn di Plagia, Starrett, Octavia continue to be active and prove the rule that Ascendancy is a profession of practice, and one that you never really get away from. They have truly become what the rest of us strive to be.

These people, who I am privileged to lead, are the largest part of what makes Plagueis great.

We didn’t win the last Great Jedi War, or even place in the top Five, as our competitors are so fond of remind us. We’ve been called many things, and Ascendant is not among them. We’ve been mocked for not Re-Clanning, belittled for being outscored by a closed House, and rejected as broken.

And yet, we continue to not only exist, but excel. One of our Jedi Hunters is the Nightmare Raid Leader for SWTOR. Two more among them are in his raid group with TWO EX-GRANDMASTERS. Some will say it’s luck. I say, if it’s luck, why did they stay with us? Because they understand that we value them for all that they are, and will help them succeed wherever it leads them.

I have the pleasure and the privilege to be involved in many projects, some of which will change the very face of Plagueis, the ripples of which will affect the entire Brotherhood. This only comes because I managed to hold on to the helm of Plagueis, and have remained there with the support and dedication of those who are Plagueians. To them, I say thank you. Without them, I would not have had the privilege to serve and see that there is more to the Brotherhood than just being along for the ride.

A shout out to Sarak Shai, for working his ass off for me! I owe him for stepping up when I needed it most. Like Unus Domus, he was there when I called, and he left only when his work was done and medically forced to.

This is not my usual report, a thing of short, terse words, preceded by fiction, and ended by a symbol most of you don’t recognize. This is my chance to give back to the people who are underneath me.

While many people tout achievements in their one year reports, projects completed, wiki modifications, great and successful projects, I’m not doing that. I'm taking the time to thank those Members who helped make it a successful year.

-> A cataclysm is coming.
A storm, is approaching.
The fiction you see above is a warning, to prepare for something, unexpected. <-

Who we are will be tested, and I have faith that we will be found to be of stronger stuff than what anyone, even I, have suspected.

A big welcome to our newest members: Solus Gar, Lettereight, and Reznov Senguir.

May your time in Plagueis be fruitful. It will be as you make of it, and there are always those willing to help; you have but to ask.

A Feud is in the works. I’m not yet ready to say who with, but it should be quite interesting. We’re looking at the usual suspects, Fiction, Gaming, Graphics, Poetry, and some ACC. If all goes according to plan, there will not only be First Level Crescents up for grabs, but we might even have something juicy for the winning unit.

Beyond the Feud is a Vendetta, one known as Horizons. It’s going to be something different, something special; that much I’ve been promised.
