Not the Voice of the Brotherhood Report

No fiction this time, just some competition updates and observations more than anything.

Multicultural Darkness -

  1. Kazmir Natas

  2. Locke Sonjie

  3. Akatsuki Tamalar

Good entries here, with some real distinct approaches to the subject matter. One of the things I liked about this competition was that it required the participants to really look beyond the scope of their own character and see just how they fit into the grand scheme of the Brotherhood. I'd call this one a successful experiment that turned out to be one of the hardest competitions I've ever had to judge. If I were using a point scale, I'd estimate these entries were within a point or two of each other. Stellar work really.

Search and Recover -

  1. Thran Occasus

  2. Locke Sonjie

  3. Teu Pepoi

  4. Akatsuki Tamalar

I asked for comedy, and I got it. It's nice to get what you ask for on occasion. Thran took the win with a witty piece that really reminded me of Hunter S. Thompson's work without really ripping the good Doctor's style. Teu and Akatsuki scored a tie on this one as well. I really couldn't make up my mind between the two.

Now, onto things that people can still (and should) enter...

A while back, Ji and Halc did this thing, where they took canon characters, and asked "How would you take them down?" and called it "Load the Can(n)ons" and it was awesome. I missed this series, so I decided to bring it back. Click here if you're interested in throwing down against Asajj Ventress.

Another while back, but much more recent, I did this thing where I asked for some poems. The Business End series, also known (to me at least) as the Seven Deadly Poems, seems to have taken off pretty well. The new one up is Greed, and I've already gotten a couple of entries. I'm hoping by the seventh, I'll be awash in poems about sin. (sounds pretty awesome, right?) Click here to tell me what you want, what you really really want.

So that's that. I'm getting a lot of entries from the same people on my competitions, which is pretty awesome. I'm sure their leaders are taking note, because I am. (cue creepy stalker music) I've taken so much note I made you a mix tape, in fact.

I'd still like to see more people throw in though. This is kinda my job, and I really do enjoy the hell out of it, so it's really a win-win. You get bling (and maybe a mix tape), I get awesome stuff to read.

But, it's late, and I'm out, so I'll leave everyone with a few things.

1. Formspring, to take advantage of my availability.

  1. Some killer DC reports are below. Don't ignore them, they're full of far more informative things than mine are.

  2. Why do we park on a driveway, and drive on a parkway?

Praetor to the Voice

You better lose yourself in the music, the moment, you own it, you better never let it go. You only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow, this opportunity comes once in a lifetime.

Eminem - Lose Yourself

Because a parkway was a road with parking spots down the length, and and a drive way was not where you used to park, but rather drive up to a house. The terms never changed with the times.
