DJB Chess Competition

On behalf of Andrelious...

Greetings, DJB members.

The time has come for the first round of the chess tournament. The draw for the 1st round is as follows:

White players are on the left.

Mirado of CNS (#11584) will play Sang of Arcona (#10407)

Furios of Plagueis (#11513) will play Zakath of Arcona (#9096)

Alexander of Tarentum (#9630) will play Raiju of HOU (#9121)

Atra of CNS (#11708) will play Legorii of Arcona (#8893)

Scelestus of Arcona (#12828) will play Archer of Arcona (#10503)

Tenda of Tarentum (#12523) will play Rangel of HOU (#13387)

Amagon of CNS (#13006) will play Koryn of HSP (#9761)

Ji of HOU (#9709) will play Montresor of Arcona (#13369)

If your name is not listed here and you have signed up, you received a bye to the next round.

The rules of the comp are even simpler than I had originally hoped for.

1) I would massively prefer if you guys arrange the games through http://chess.entar.org . This would be achieved by signing up, with the black player emailing the white player, CCing me and their summits, with their username, so the white player can set up the game. However, if you can both agree on another site, such as chess.com or Yahoo! Chess, I will allow this, so long as you play regular chess.

2) To try and stop the competition from taking years, I require that at least one move be made within a 48 hour window. Extensions will be considered for extenuating circumstances.

3) When the game is finished, regardless of timeout, checkmate or resignation, I will require a screenshot with the winning position emailed to me by the winning player. In the event of a draw, the match will be replayed with the white player playing as black, and vice versa.

4) White players get to go first, but they also have the responsibility of emailing me once the match is ongoing. Any matches not started within a week will be judged in favour of the black player.

Good luck, DJB! Get those pawns to King Four!
