Welcome all, to another fun week in HAD. In addition to the many Krathy activities you have the options of participating in, there is also the SCL's "Face Lift" Comp, detailed in Tetrarch Corde Aghasett's report for Drynwyn's Flame Phyle. Dragon Guard also has a motto comp going on, and Corde has changed DF's motto but is accepting suggestions for better ones ;-) Tyros be sure to check your Phyle reports for details on specific Phyle comps and activities.

There is a lot of moving and shaking going on as Karva and Corde do great work in getting their respective Phyles running in top form... I would encourage anyone who isn't already a Tyro to check out both of our House's awesome groups and consider how joining might make your DB experience a more rewarding one - there is a lot of great stuff to do for both Phyles!

In other news, there are exciting plans in the works from the best and brightest minds of HAD, who brought you the Master-Student program - a DJK Thesis program, and maybe in the near future, a new Phyle! So keep an eye on House communiques...

In rl news, I have just wrapped up a school term, so expect to see more of me idling around on IRC. If anyone is not on IRC and is interested, email me or check out http://www.mirc.co.uk, and log on to any Undernet server. You'll find us in #csp. =)

As always, I check email fifty thousand times a day and love hearing from everyone, even when it's just Mike with his smartass comments ;-P So, participate in things, email me if you need guidance or moral support, and hope everyone has great holiday breaks! I understand if people are travelling and aren't around to be active, but just dropping myself, Cym, and OM Timbal a line to say you're going to be gone is a great step. And if you are around, and on break from classes or work, there's lots to do hint, hint ;-)

I apologize for this week's report being so short and plain!!! Next week's will be long and colorful and you'll love reading each and every word! Yesss, you will.... >:P

Firstly, I'd like to say what a great job Karva and Corde are doing as TETS of DG and DF. Take a look at those websites already! I know they're both gonna be awesome. Great work, guys. :)

And speaking of Karva...it was his B-Day on the 12th! Did you wish him a "happy birthday"??? Ya should have. HAPPY BIRTHDAY KARV!!! Cymbre throws a birthday cake in everyone's favorite KE's face ;D

Lastly, there's plenty of comps going on right now, so there's plenty of oppurtunities to be active. Don't forget to CC Sabe and I any entries you may submit.

Drynwyn's Flame Report

Lots of nifty little changes have come about for the Phyle this past week. Here's the sweet 'n' lowdown:

It's mostly completed, with all of the links in place, and the majority of the content, with the following exceptions:

History Page - Our Phyle history has not yet been written, but the "Eternal Flame" Competition should take care of that - see NEW DF COMPETITION below for details.

Archives Page - What's a Krath website without its archives? Not much. So from here on in I'd like all Tyros to CC me with their exrta-phyle competition submissions, as well as send me any stories, poems, etc., you have laying around that you'd like included in the archives. Eventually (some time in Jan.), Tyros will have their own, individual page to display these works on.

Also, be sure check out the ROSTER page, where I've given everyone a picture portrait that links to their dossiers (If you don't like the picture I've given you, let me know, and I'll find something else, or you can send along your own).

NEW MESSAGE BOARD:

Ever wonder what your true Viking Name is? How 'bout your Pirate Name? Check out "Old Man Drynwyn's Place" under the Fun and Entertainment category, on our new boards, located at http://64.246.0.3/index.cgi?pbuser=df (this address will be changing shortly, as Proboards is undergoing some maintenance -- I'll inform everyone when it does).

These boards are a helluva lot better than those cruddy ezboards, imo, and a lot more attractive too, with lots of bells and whistles to play with. So make sure to sign up!

As a side note -- We, the Elite Phyle of Acclivis, we should have a full load on our boards all of the time, with lots of run-ons and discussion. This is to be expected, and those who stick with it, on a consistent basis, will be rewarded for their activity.

NEW MOTTO:

I've changed our Phyle motto from...whatever the heck it was...to "Feel the Burn." If someone can think of something better, lemme know.

As you've already gather from reading this email, I've signed everyone up to a new egroups, as the old one was misspelled. In case you haven't figured it out, it's:

NEW DF COMPETITION - "The Eternal Flame":

Tyros must research the history of DF, through whatever ingenuity you can muster (old sites, interviews with former Phyle members, etc.), and couple these findings with your own embellishments, so that the end result will be the "Definitive History of Drynwyn's Flame." The winning entry will be a permanent feature of the DF website (the History page), as well as being included in the KCB's archives.

This is a mandatory comp, but to account for the holiday break, the deadline is set for January 20th. Format should be New Times Roman 12pt. or equivalent, and must be a minimum of 2 pages. The winner will be awarded a Dark Cross.

OTHER COMPS:

The SCL's "Face Lift" Comp:

-Entries should include a complete example layout, including graphics, and example text.

-Entries should include any graphics for subsequent pages that may be necessary to completely utilize it.

-Entries should be in .html form to begin with, and will be implemented in to the ASP should the winner be deemed worthy enough.

FINAL NOTE TO THE PHYLE:

As the holiday season is now upon us, and many of us are either headlong in exams or on our way home to visit the folks, the "100% dedication" that's required of all DF Tyros is suspended until the new year. Of course, I encourage you to involve yourself in the above mentioned comps, and to keep generally active until then, but it is not mandatory (with the exception of the "Eternal Flame" Comp -- again, Jan. 20th deadline).

Dragon Guard Report

_** Dark Greetings

This is my first report as Tetrarch so excuse the not so pretty formatting that I usually do with reports like this. With that said I will explain overall what I have done thus far and what I am planning to do.

Since becoming Tetrarch I have uploaded a new website (http ://www20.brinkster.com/msimon15/dg/home.html) and on it you can read about my motto competition for the Phyle. So far only one Jedi has submitted!!! I will of course expect more of my Tyro's to submit in the coming days.

In the coming weeks, I will be stressing how important it is to use the message board and will start formulating ideas for future competitions and activities.
